Training camps are much longer and much more intense than in the past. 12 week camps are common now. Two fights a year means 24 weeks of camp. That's half your life. Camp is torture. 3 fights a year would be 36 weeks of camp. No millionaire is going to put himself through that, especially when the TV networks don't want to give that many dates to one fighter.

I'd want to see Charlo vs Andrade regardless of the platform. PBC or DAZN. I don't care. I love fights where everything is at stake, the fighters are from different sides, and the two sides are sweating bullets the entire fight.

The issue is when fans think they know what a fighter SHOULD do. Which is totally different than what a fan wants them to do.
According to boxrec, 3 of the top 5 middleweights are with PBC and 2 of the top 5 middleweights are with DAZN. Personally, I'm very skeptical that Canelo is returning to middleweight, which would mean 3 of the top 4 middleweights are with PBC.
The two opponents PBC is lining up for Charlo are both rated higher than Andrade.

Fans pay money to go watch these fights in person. Or pay for Showtime or the streaming services. Or sit through commercials while watching the fights on free tv.
Their wants and desires deserve to be taken into account when promoters are trying to make money off them.
This bullshshit of trying to minimize or outright ignore their voice is backwards. If anything the fans need to make their voice louder and stronger and more unified in order to have a better, healthier sport.

My statement is based on what I often read and hear from them about wanting to be more active. If they want to take the "Gary Russell Jr." approach and fight once a year then fine, it's just that I often hear fighters express a desire to be more active
Usually the fighters complaining about wanting to be more active are those second or third tier guys. The Austin Trout or Luis Callazo kind of guys. Who aren't big enough names to get their own TV dates. So they have to wait for an A-side willing to give them a decent payday.
Now, if they were willing to fight for peanuts, they could stay active. But if they want to make real money, they're often stuck waiting a year or two between fights until a bigger names wants their scalp on their resume.
