Is it a sucker deal because Al Haymon will pay Charlo the same amount to face another Dennis Hogan-level opponent?
This and the moron's conspiracy theory that Charlo wouldn't get a fair shake on DAZN even though many people think his brother got robbed against Tony Harrison on PBC last year. But morons like that won't let troubling things like facts get in the way of their opinions.

How many years was it delayed? Hearns turned pro at 19 and won his first world title at 21, then the Leonard fight happened when he was 22 so it couldn't have been that long.
My point is that it took 3-4 fights (from when Hearns first won a title to when he fought Leonard) instead of 3-4 years.
I wasn't watching boxing at that time though so I appreciate the insight.
Fighters fought way more often back then, so the two years people were demanding the fight were equivalent to the 3-4 year waits we have no for fights.
Career high pay day doesn't mean something is a good deal.
And the offer wasn't option free like you're claiming. Hearn was demanding a future option.
I don't have any inside information about the specifics of the offer beyond what was reported, which is why I said that perhaps I could be oversimplifying things.
It's a sucker deal because A-sides don't give up all of their leverage and cross the street to fighter a B-side. Doesn't happen.
Ok, if there are better fighters on "your side of the street" then fine, however if a greater threat exists "across the street" then as a fan I want to at least see an effort to make the fight happen.
The question is who on Charlo's "side of the street" is seen as a bigger threat than Demetrius Andrade?

We shouldn't have to wait 3-4 years for fights and fighters should fight at least 3 times per year barring injury.
