Canelo wins ESPN 2019 Fighter of the Year

Canelo had 2 belts, Jacobs had 1 belt and Andrade had the last belt. Canelo and Jacobs was unification against the clear highest ranked belt holder outside of Canelo who was 1 at 160 it was clear number 1 vs 2 champions unification. At 175 Kovalev was either number 1 or 2 depending on the media you want to go by. Kovalev was for example #2 in ESPN 175 Rankings. Beterbiev fight was 1 vs 3 by ESPN rankings or 2 vs 3 depending on which media rankings you want by but not 1 vs 2 champions unifying like Canelo vs Jacobs was.

At that point, I would have still considered Canelo/Golovkin clear 1 and 2. Jacobs wasn't looking too great and had an extremely close fight with Sulecki, where the KD greatly helped him (yes, you could say the same about G/Jacobs). Andrade hadn't done anything at the weight yet. Yeah Jacobs and Andrade had the other belts but as far as who were the best in the division, I'm just saying it was Canelo and Gennadiy, at that time. With Golovkin looking older and more vulnerable, now I'd venture to say he's not so clearly at the top of the division anymore.
