Horrible old Arum showing hes reap self again. So many people died during the troubles, and the IRA campaign, including innocent women and children and certainly Catholics and people on their own side were excuted. Nothing to get a "kick out of". Arums not quite as innocent and nieve he makes out. He wouldn't habe found a joke about the Holocaust funny, or about the conflict in *********. Time hasnt healed alot of these wounds.Comment

I wonder how bob would feel if a Palastinian entered the ring to a political rant before a fight with a ***?!Comment

Thank you for pointing this out. That portion has since been modified. The writer displays ignorance by saying Roman and Irish Catholics vs British Protestants.
Firstly its not clear what the difference is between a Roman Catholic and an Irish catholic, and secondly, the conflict is primarily between Northern Irish Catholics and Northern Irish protestants, not 'British' protestants. Britain is the union of Wales, Scotland and England. The United Kingdom is the union of Britain and Northern Ireland - the Northern Irish protestants are 'unionist' as they want to maintain that union with Britain, the Northern Irish Catholics want unification between Ireland (a separate, catholic majority country to the South) and Northern Ireland (which is majority protestant).
So 'Roman an Irish Catholics vs British Protestants' is wrong on all sorts of levels.Comment

Well as much as i agree with you and hate that about modern society, this kind of comment is not just about being offended..
Check out the history of the subject. People were still at war and murdering people over it not so long ago and there’s still always and undercurrent of tensions regarding the Troubles, it never goes away.
How would Bob feel if someone come into the ring on his card with a pro ********* shirt, or a **** uniform or something. Anyway i’m from a ***ish background like Bob, and know that some ***s are not going to let certain subjects fly, so he should know better than talking about pro IRA things.Comment

The Ireland situation isn't the same as some of the PC/******* stuff over names/labelling - there are people willing to kill each other over the Irish issue, and its very current because of Brexit - this is no joke.
Ireland (vast majority catholic) is a country that is part of Europe. Northern Ireland (vast majority protestant) is separate and is a part of the UK. The Troubles in Ireland related to Northern Irish portestants wanting to remain as part of the UK, while the minority Northern Irish catholics want unification with Ireland to the south (the unified country will then be majority catholic). The IRA is/was the military wing of the Northern Irish catholics.
While there was what was called a Hard Border between Northern Ireland and Ireland, ie checkpoints etc, these were hot targets. With the UK and Ireland both being part of Europe, and with political dialogue between the two, the hard border was able to be removed and it contributed to ending the troubles there.
Now with Brexit, Northern Ireland and Ireland will suddenly be under different customs regulations again, and theoretically a customs border needs to be reintroduced - which will potentially fire up the troubles again as it reintroduces a physical symbol of the separation between the two - almost guaranteeing that any hard border infrastructure will be attacked, and people will start dying again.
This was the whole issue with what is/was called the 'Backstop' part of the Brexit agreement - ie the part about how the new customs border between Ireland and Northern Ireland would be managed.
If you want to understand further, look up the difference between the Provisional IRA and the Real IRA - its tense, and could flare up again if not managed carefully.Comment

NI is a pro-EU ‘nation’ and has just voted in the nationalists outnumbering the unionists. In the vast majority of constituencies, the nationalist vote was higher than the unionist one, especially if counting the very pro-EU alliance vote who won’t vote for either side. Unionism post-Brexit is dying quicklyThe Ireland situation isn't the same as some of the PC/******* stuff over names/labelling - there are people willing to kill each other over the Irish issue, and its very current because of Brexit - this is no joke.

Not sure which will get a referendum/border poll first.. Scotland or NI. But they will eventually and that’ll be it for the UKComment
