Fury is so scared of the rematch he doesnt know what to do with himself. He thought running away and signing the ESPN deal would keep him away from Wilder. But the ESPN execs know they cant feed him any more bum fighters, as there is no interest from the public for it.
ESPN boss:
"Fury, unfortunately we can't sign off on you fighting another D-tier Euro fighter, we only sold 3000 tickets your last fight. We need you to step up and sign a deal against a top fighter"
Fury: "I don't feel physically or mentally ready for Wilder though."
Boss: "What about B-tier fighters like Hunter, Povetkin or Miller?"
Fury: "No, they're too dangerous for me. What about Chisora?"
Boss: "No, there is little interest from the public in that fight. We have to go for Wilder".
*Fury: "No problem, I've beaten him once already so no problem doing it again. I hope he doesn't look as terrible as he did in the last fight, he missed with 92% of his punches and looked ridiculous. "Comment

Kaboom!
If Wilder goes to the body with a vengeance, Fury won't finish. He gave a great account of himself last time but history tells us Wilder is devastating in rematches. He is basically a boxer who is still learning, but with a long strike range and great natural quickness. He is also a quick study and with 12 rounds with Fury and 18 with Ortiz he's had good teachers. And then.....there's the explosive impact of his punch, which doesn't seem to fall off in later rounds like a lot of the big punchers of the past. His conditioning is extraordinary. He has also added some new punches and punching angles. It's hard to fight perfectly for a whole fight, as Fury found out last time. Ortiz found out too. It only takes one.Comment

Unlike in soccer leagues where the best players are spread throughout the world, in the big four North American sports (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL) all the best players in the world feed into a single league.
It would be nonsensical for the best MLB team to play the best team from Nippon Professional Baseball or the Mexican leagues, because all the best players from those leagues already left to play in MLB.
The best pro baseball team in the world outside of MLB would get absolutely obliterated by the worst MLB team.
The best hockey team in the KHL would get wrecked by the worst team in the NHL.
The best team in Euro basketball would get destroyed by the worst NBA team.Comment
