It's called the "World Series" because all the best players in the world play in MLB. Also, just for the record, the Toronto Blue Jays do not play in the USA.
Unlike in soccer leagues where the best players are spread throughout the world, in the big four North American sports (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL) all the best players in the world feed into a single league.
It would be nonsensical for the best MLB team to play the best team from Nippon Professional Baseball or the Mexican leagues, because all the best players from those leagues already left to play in MLB.
The best pro baseball team in the world outside of MLB would get absolutely obliterated by the worst MLB team.
The best hockey team in the KHL would get wrecked by the worst team in the NHL.
The best team in Euro basketball would get destroyed by the worst NBA team.
Nobody plays baseball outside of America. Nobody plays American Football outside of America and nobody takes basketball seriously outside of America.
Three American sports, three strikes. All are national, none international.
Let's look at British Sports;
Football (soccer) --biggest sport in the world by far. Hundreds of countries compete to enter the *World Cup*
Cricket - second biggest sport in the World played globally.
Rugby - International sport with a fan base around the size of American football (but far better to watch).
These three sports are loved around the World, not just in one country.
So when you call something *World Series* despite it only ever being a domestic sport, expect to be mocked.Comment

This is true because America creates sports that nobody else is interested in.

Rugby is American football, except with smaller, slower players and far less strategy.
Soccer in America doesn't even register as a sport. If your kid is a good athlete, you sign him up for football or basketball or baseball. If your eight year old daughter needs somewhere to be after school on Wednesdays and Fridays at 3:45, you sign her up for soccer.Comment

Cricket is baseball, except twenty times more boring.
Rugby is American football, except with smaller, slower players and far less strategy.

Rugby is far better than American football as they actually play the game instead of stopping for 5 minutes every ten seconds.
The Rugby players are at least as big as AF players they just don't hide behind a suit of armour (real men).
As for "soccer' the World game with a fanbase that pizzes all over every American sport combined. Nobody cares what America thinks, America has terrible sports that nobody wants to play.
The World is far bigger than America and not a single one of your sports is successful outside of your country.
You are on the Z list, despite desperately trying to grow your sports beyond the US, nobody is interested.
As for basketball its just netball for lanky men.
Your sports are simplified idiot version's of real sports.Last edited by Angeljuice; 12-19-2019, 03:39 PM.Comment
