Tony, you're not being fair here. Haney won the eliminator and earned the mandatory title shot. Loma went to the WBC and asked to be designated emeritus champion knowing this would mean he'd have to surrender the WBC belt. He also knew this meant he wouldn't have to fight Haney.

Haney definitely won the title in the boardroom and not the ring, but you shouldn't hold that against him. The criticism should be directed at the fighter that avoided fighting him and gave him the title Rid**** Bowe style.

Hey, all I was commenting on was the dude claiming that Commey is the number two lightweight champion when's they are only two champs. In a division with four champs, number two would something. But with just two? Not so much. That's ridiculous.

I have nothing against Haney. That whole belt thing with them two is so screwed up, it's a black eye on boxing without question. We're in a sad state when we have **** like this which is why I'm beyond all the belts. It's all a joke now. In a real sport, there would be one lightweight champion and that's it. I hope Loma and Haney do fight. I'd love to see it. Lucky for Haney, he's got time all on his side, too. Maybe it happens this coming year or next.

Loma stating his plan in 2020 is to fight Lopez then make a fight with Davis proves his intention was never unification. It also shows he is not keen on fighting Haney at all.

You can't credibly argue Loma only wants elite opposition like you keep doing because Davis hasn't fought anyone at 135. If he beats Gamboa as expected, that will be his only win at 135. Haney, a true 135lber and not a FW moving up, would pose much more risk.

I will just look forward to the Loma/Lopez fight. Hopefully it is good. Loma should be well rested and ready to go.

Maybe one day he will step up and take some tough fights and win and earn a shot but that is not today.

However, what really happened is Loma requested the designation and dropped the belt. That is why I posted that he really wasn’t interested in unifying the division.

Another point you touched on in your post. Loma defended against other mandos. Only Haney was the one he avoided.
