It’s not word play. It’s cowardice. Loma requested the designation. That is the problem I and others have.

Never once have I said that about a super champion.

This is how I see this whole debacle.
Haney rightly or wrongly would have eventually become Lomas mandatory so Loma being the nice guy he is accepted the Franchise belt to give Haney the old WBC belt.


But you may ask why, well he done this because he knew Haney couldn't make any waves doing what he does so he slips him a paper belt to make the fight more interesting when Loma decides to destroy the young lad.

I can see your point. However the difference between Haney and Lopez is Haney didn’t say anything until he became the mando.

I don’t think it’s fair to say Haney is trying to use loma’s name. He just seems to want to fight. He was very respectful.

Frankly, Haney did it the way you’re “supposed “ to according to nsb yet he still got criticism for it.

Hopefully we see all these fights. I think loma/Haney at LW and loma/Berchelt at 130 are great fights for the sport.

The haters came up with that false narrative. Loma didn't request Franchise. He accepted it as an honor, because that's how he saw it, as an honor for his record five belts in first fifteen fights. It sounds like someone under Arum requested it, based on Suileman's response. Taking Loma's response and Suli's, Loma didn't request the honor and was unaware someone from top rank did. That explains it all. But Franchise didn't affect a Haney and Loma fight. Haney was pushing hard, 'why don't you fight me next in-between Campbell and Teo/Commey (some deragatory misconstruence of Loma's name inserted here).'. ****, it don't work that way.

Undisputed trump's mandatory. Loma wasn't going to fight Haney ever, before he fought the winner of Teo and Commey. Loma didn't need Franchise to avoid that scenario. Franchise was an honor that surprised Loma. It elevated his status with certain intentions by Sulieman. Haney benefitted so got very lucky to be in the right place at the right time. Then Haney lost it with a hurt shoulder. But same night Loma won the designation as Franchise, in his acceptance speech, he promised to represent it with honor as a honorable ambassador and he said emphatically he wants Haney and Tank in 2020 after he fights Teo/Commey.

Haney started calling out Loma in mid September trying to force Loma to a fight prior to the undisputed match. Haney was playing the media heavy, trying to do Hearns' job for him. Haney started calling Loma names, like a schoolgirl, to try and generate a false narrative that Loma is ducking him. Loma didn't respond in kind. Because he's not an impetuant 20 year old. Loma and Manny, respectable ambassadors for the Sport. Broner said he had sautied German Shepherd in the back room for Manny's fans. Manny didn't react with equal b.s. Loma is likewise acting with clarity and honorable behavior and respect. This is sport of gladiators, and some fighters save it for the ring.

Again, the rules are an organization cannot force a Mando over an Undisputed fight. Loma didn't have any mandated next fight with Haney. If he had he would have fought it honorably.

Loma and the Franchise belt were mutually exclusive and had no bearing on that. Meaning Franchise wasn't affecting the next fight for Loma. Haters spread su****ion as fact, without sharing the full context. Clarity is everything. As an honorable ambassador Loma called for the Haney fight. It's not Loma's fault Haney subsequently relinquished the belt. Loma had shoulder surgery and fought Pedrazza three months later with out throwing one right hook. The fact that Haney won't do the same to fight Fortuna, raises eyebrows. Hell if that was Loma, haters would say he's ducking Fortuna.
