Confident but humble. Respect his opponents and himself. Old school young guy. What's not to like? A big future awaits this young man.

Ortiz is perhaps the most mature, self-aware young contender in the sport right now. He's right to be wary of fighting the very best in the division this year, but in two year's time he's going to be terrorizing the WW class.

Nah, let that one marinate. Big money down the road. Better to go after the Tier-II name guys like Thurman, Ugas, Porter and Garcia.

Virgil Ortiz is the 1st I've heard mention T Crawford...although that's very admirable, he's keeping it real about T Crawford. Guys like Thurman, Ugas, Porter and Garcia, easy work for Virgil Ortiz. They will never accept a fight with V Ortiz..

There's nothing to marinate. Floyd Mayweather and Diego Corrales didn't let it marinate. They fought while both were 23 and undefeated.

We tried to let Spence Thurman marinate.. Thurman lost
We tried to let Wilder Joshua marinate. Joshua lost

That's terrific news but I wonder what will really happen.

It's easy to be said but it's different once you're in the ring. Time will tell as we watch Ortiz continue to progress if he's ready for either names mentioned

Looking forward to seeing him in the mix. But he needs to elevate in competition slowly.

Biggest laugh of the article was the supposed Canelo being too raw against Mayweather extended fairy tale. Canelo got better after the Mayweather beating because he now imitates Mayweather.

Skills he would not have learned outside of fighting Mayweather. So writers need to stop pretending Canelo would have picked that fighting style up elsewhere with maturity. That loss is the secret sauce to all his future success.

Who is Danny's best win at 147? Shopworn Rios, Granados?
Those are the only fights that he had Knockouts in,, Rios is a punching bag and granados is a 140 pounder
