I don't think Manny did anything as out of the ordinary as jumping 2 weight divisions to brutally knock out a guy much larger than himself.

Anything but Canelo feels wrong, but i could never be unhappy to see Pac pick it up. His 2 wins were solid, however I don't think the fighter of the year is meant to take age into account and Pac's accomplishments feel extra special because of his age, more so than the performance itself.

Davis? I don’t hate Gervonta some of his fans are delusional and ****** but I like Davis.

Tyson Fury of course, after battling depression and other things he came back at maybe 40% and still fat and toyed with the guy who's supposed to be the Heavyweight monster everyone fears, and just getting up from Wilder's best shot and then haunting him around the ring deserves him the fighter of the decade award let alone the fight of the year award.

Canelo easily. Jacobs then jumping up 2 weights to KO Kovalev nobody has better wins in 2019. Pacquiao had a good year but Thurman coming of long layoff and injuries is not better then Jacobs or Kovalev. And broner hasn't won a fight since 2017. Hasn't had a belt since 2016. Hasn't won a big fight in more then a half a decade.

Kovalev had multiple losses and was coming off a bad performance where he almost got stopped by Yarde. Plus, he's older.

Of all the champs at 175, he was easily the weakest.

Kovalev was world champ after avenging his only loss other then to #1 P4P great Andre Ward and beat a undefeated top contender. Kovalev was every media's number 1 or 2 ranked light heavyweight at the time canelo signed on to jump up 2 divisions and fight him. Weakest world champ is rewriting history only man that Kovalev hadn't beaten was Andre Ward.

Jacobs was number 2 middleweight champ behind only Canelo. Thurman long layoffs, injuries and looked horrible almost stopped by light hitting joseito Lopez earlier this year. Kovalev and Jacobs were coming off better wins then Lopez or Broner who didn't win either of his previous 2 fights before fighting pac.

Thurman was ranked at best 3rd champ (clearly ranked behind Spence and Crawford ) at 147 at the time Pacquiao signed to fight him and Broner wasn't on anybodies top 10 at 147. Jacobs and Kovalev were universally higher ranked at 160 and 175 then Thurman and Broner.

On topic I would say Pac, Inoue and Beterbiev are the contenders.

Inoue showed something he hasnt previously against a top fighter who was a lot bigger than him.

Pac fought one of the top guys at Welter and looked fantastic even at this stage in his career.

The Beterbiev fight with Gvozdyk was supposed to be a 50-50 fight (with a lot of people on here favoring Gvozdyk to stop Beterbiev late). And Kalajdzic was also supposed to be a tough fight but Beterbiev walked through both with little trouble, cementing himself as the guy to beat at light heavyweight.


Personally I choose Beterbiev with Pac being a close second.
