I can accept the excuse that Ruiz was overwhelmed with the sudden fame and fortune. But he should have realized that success comes from dedicated and consistent hard-work. As fast as you rise, you can fall even faster. Look at all the past examples, especially in boxing.

Ruiz and Team Ruiz should have known better.
Man he’s fallen fast. Just read the comments. I’m mean Whyte is now ranked higher??? And he looked worse than Ruiz lol

Hard to back up this guy now. He had a massive fight ahead of him. He had an opportunity of a life time to do it all over again and he just was lazy living the good life. The pay public paid to get a good fight and you got an overweight athlete that could not perform.

It will take him a nice streak of wins to gain the public backing again. He really did himself a deservice.

Who know with all that money now his heart is not into it anymore.

He will get fights for sure no matter what he weighs.
I just don't know how long it will be until he would get a championship shot again.

But he's ok. Got 10 plus mills to chill with for a while.

Didn't even have to work hard for it. Props for fighting the power and sticking it to the man, Andy!

                I don’t understand it tbh.

Is this guy not a father? I can’t really relate.

I dunno how you could have a family and the opportunities he’s had and make these kinds of excuses.

He's only human man. People mess up. Often people mess up very good things.

He has boxed since he was a child, but you get the impression that he never really has a burning desire in him.

Like boxing isn't really his be all, end all.

                    Different strokes I guess.
