Comments Thread For: Andy Ruiz: I Will Do My Best To Be Champion Again

After acknowledging that Anthony Joshua entered the ring and did what he needed to do in order to come away with his hand raised, heavyweight Andy Ruiz confessed that a lack of focus, discipline and training cost him the fight against the British superstar. This past Saturday night at the Diriyah Arena in Saudi Arabia, Joshua ouboxed Ruiz over twelve rounds to recapture the IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO heavyweight titles.

Yes you need to be lighter to keep up speed wise with josh. No point in just being big to absorb blows better or maybe punch a little harder?
You need to be able to land those bombs

Ruiz is a loser. He made a believer out of me, and now I feel like a fool for believing in him. He's dead to me.

Man, Ruiz. You REALLY made me look like a clown this weekend. Big time. I had so much faith in you, brought together friends and family to watch the first Mexican Heavyweight Champ defend his belts in what was supposed to be the fight of the year, and you let made me look like a FOOL. I don't even know what to say right now other than I hope you take a fight in early 2020, come in shape and make us believers again. I am beyond confused as to how NOBODY was able to reel him in and cement into his brain the INSANE opportunity he had just acquired in June. I hope he has the mental fortitude to rally his way back into the Championship conversation, but I will not hold my breath. HOWEVER, If Usyk wants to REALLY get in the mix, I would love to see Ruiz vs Usyk in the early quarter of 2020. Andy took little to no damage vs AJ, and clearly is not overtrained. A win vs Usyk would put Andy right back into the mix.

                    un-huh .......

                    Don't say it, do it!!!

I can accept the excuse that Ruiz was overwhelmed with the sudden fame and fortune. But he should have realized that success comes from dedicated and consistent hard-work. As fast as you rise, you can fall even faster. Look at all the past examples, especially in boxing.

Ruiz and Team Ruiz should have known better.
