The heavyweight division is in the golden era

These guys are not exactly world beaters. These are some of the same type of tomato cans that Tyson beat up in the 80s when he was making a name for himself. (Povetkin, Chisora, Ruiz, Whyte) to name a few.
These guys make up the silver era of heavyweight boxing not the golden era.Comment

This era sucks
bunch of subpar divas avoiding each other
The Klistchkos were the last true GREAT heavyweights
not decent, not good, GREAT
Now the belts have been taken over by chumps
Wilder, Joshua or Fury aren't worthy of carrying a prime Vitali/Wlad's jockstrap!Comment

The last point is a symptom of the times with social media. But the best fighting the best just to prove who is the best is such a rare event nowadays. Yes, nostalgia can cloud one's objectivity, but how does what we have now, in any way, equate to a golden era for HW boxing??definitely NOT in a golden era.....
A golden era of boxing, or in this case a division, is when EVERYONE fights everyone. This current era is full of excuses, promoters who dont like to share and weirdo fan boys who care more about ppv sales or subs than actual fights that matter.Comment

The Bruno that fought Lennox would give Wilder and Joshua all they could handle but would get out boxed by Fury. He was stiff but he could box and had devastating power. This era is going to end up being greater than the overrated 90s. Tyson the beast of the 90s peaked in the late 80s. George Foreman became a champion in his 40s. A flabby and sick Larry Holmes was still beating up contenders in the 90s. Lennox Lewis was getting knocked out cold by boxers on the same level as Chisora. Bowe was only good for two years. Etc. Fu..cking limited and one dimensional Bruno was a freaking champ in the 90s. LMAO.
Like Bowe fought Lennox and Tyson? Like Lennox fought Holyfield and Tyson in their primes? And weren't those the big 4 of the 90s?
Lewis would beat down the current top three. So would Bowe. Agree with what you say about Tyson, peak Tyson was in the 80s. Fury too big for Holyfield but he would trouble Joshua (think Takam and Povetkin) and Wilder - poor defense.
You are assuming that the current crop all fight - it hasn't happened yet and most people are not as optimistic as you - for good reason too.Comment

Would probably give Wilder all he could handle until Wilder lands and he freezes like he had been hit by Subzero's fireball and gets sparked out. AJ would beat him from pillar to post. The only thing Bruno had was a stiff jab, yet he was beating the brakes off Lennox's arse for like 5 rds.The Bruno that fought Lennox would give Wilder and Joshua all they could handle but would get out boxed by Fury. As for Lennox, I think he'll KO Wilder pretty easily like a lot of the top contenders today would, hence Wilder stays getting protected from punchers. But I don't know about the other two.
I would love to see a prime Povetkin vs Holyfield. Povetkin is a killer and it's not shocking he won a lot of gold medals in the amateur ranks, including world championships and olympics. Even at 40 - he's still beating up good boxers. I think he beat Hunter on Saturday and most Americans I've chatted to said the same thing. They had Povetkin by 7-5 rds. Even on TBV, those guys said Hunter lost.Comment
