that is good I forget often times that DAZN is world wide and that it in Not just DAZN USA

so yeah glad that this event did well overall, it will open the door for other fights as well as other countries offering big site fees to get a big boxing event

I'm American but to hell with the US Market right now when it comes to boxing! ZERO Passion for this sport anymore here and EVERYBODY is being effected in American with Lower Attendances. Boxing just not in a good space in America so now is a great time to Build Up Boxing More Internationally

DAZN wants to break in the US market so we need to know them if you guys want to compare them to FOX.
Fox has been around many decades, I wouldn't expect them to catch up overnight but the fact that their big fights are getting these kinds of numbers is a positive sign.

        So my understanding is that:

Uk- between 1.2 and 1.6 mil depending on what you believe

        Mexico - c. 7 million

Dazn - 1.8 mil across 8 countries ; but almost certainly USA , Canada and Germany the vast majority of those because the other countries wouldn’t get many.

        Others - unknown

However you stack that up - the numbers are impressive. Dazn, sky and Mexico far outdid what I was expecting that’s fair to say. In the UK in particular I thought there was a lack of a buzz this time around, that combined with a price increase and pre-Xmas tending to affect ppv numbers - I was anticipating 1 mil ish mark

No set up has that type of turnaround anywhere on the planet, and the US has been in the PPV business for at least 30 some-odd years.

Hilarious that you want to believe Sky Sports has some super fast reporting system, lol.
Well PPV has changed a bit in the last 30 years. As has technology.

In the UK I'm assuming they buy it through their Sky box... it validates through the internet and charges their account.

I'd be shocked if they couldn't tell you the precise number of PPV buys at any given time.

What would they be doing in this extra time needed? Counting coins?

The National Lottery knows exactly how many tickets have been sold and immediately knows how many winners there are when the draw is made. It's all online and automated.

If it stands true that is good for boxing. It is just easier now a days to see an international event live and with the app you can see it later on the day.

he was stopped by the ref and far from KO Ed lol.....he was also ill and had some real health issues but now he has corrected that wrong and again at the top of the heavyweight tree

dude...he refused to step forward(did he even have his mouthpiece?) and stayed in the corner with his arms on the ropes when the ref asked him to step forward...dude quit

health issues? lol....whatever helps him and you sleep at night....

he corrected it by fighting saftey first against a 6 ft tub of butter with slow feet and short arms

when he pulls that type of performance off against wilder or fury ill give him props and his due...till then it was against a mid tier HW with every physical disadvantage...not impressed

I feel as though that loss did more good then bad for Joshua. He would've never gotten that kind of purse in Saudi Arabia fighting anybody else other then Wilder. He also fixed his physique which was a knockout waiting to happen, it was weighing his body down and gassing him. He fought 12 full mobile rounds with speed, power, and endurance on saturday.

Losses can sometimes be a blessing in disguise if you learn from them and are mentally strong. I believe Joshua fits under this category, people didn't believe in him but he's got a strong mind. It showed especially in how he handled and carried himself after the loss, like a true man.
Good post. AJ must have lived in the gym for the full 6 months. His speed and fitness were excellent and his weight was perfect. His biggest problem going forward is his chin though and he csnt do anything about that unfortunately.

Is 1.8M across 9 markets good, average or bad? Seems bad to me still. Although its still the noob & this seems bigger than the last numbers across multiple markets. Itd be more interesting to see the US numbers specifically.

I don't believe his chin is that bad, he just couldn't recover after being hurt because his muscles were depleting his oxygen and weighing him down too much. Every boxer gets hurt, especially in the heavyweight division. It's about how you recover from taking the shot.
