No one can speak intelligently on DAZN USA's prospects down the line. We don't have the data, and even if we did we can't anticipate how their strategy will play out. DAZN is in boxing in the USA to build brand equity, so they'll eventually have the credibility to move onto bigger sports. They could potentially be a major player in boxing in the long run, but that's not their strategy. They want NFL, MLB, etc.

I will say this: if anything you read arguing the chances of success or failure of DAZN comes from boxing sites, you should definitely ignore it.

You got me confused with someone else. I'm not talking DAZN going outta business. F#ck man I'm the guy saying the same sh^t you just said that they live or die on acquiring major sports.

But we can analyze and discuss the boxing numbers to for what they mean now & in comparison to other past subscription service numbers.

I hear you dude, but you asked if it's good or bad. The answer is... no one knows.

My point is, just look at how clueless even industry people are to this stuff. Chris Mannix, long before he joined DAZN, was going around saying PBC was a "failed experiment." Then boom, the Fox deal was announced and PBC is here to stay.

Lots of writers and posters will grab numbers and try and drop them into narratives they want to see, but the truth is DAZN's viewership numbers aren't really comparable to any other networks because they're a unique thing.

For Sir David Attenborough, I'd fly 100,000 miles.

How is what Mannix said, false? It’s not so much subjective or opinion when you use circumstances from its philosophy.

Gaymon once said he could run HBO better... now Haymon is relying on a revenue protocol that HBO’s golden era was based on... without Mayweather PPV, Haymon can’t deliver those metrics.

                  PBC:

                  “Free boxing.” - Failed
                  “PBC belt.” - UFC style

PBC on Fox publicly dismissed the WBO. One exec said, should Ruiz win the rematch, PBC belt between Wilder and Ruiz. He didn’t say, “even if Ruiz loses, we plan a PBC belt for Wilder vs X... anyways.”

Get real. 1.6M x £25 is NOT what the promoter is receiving.

Like the U.S., the UK PPV distributors take 40-50% - so the promoter receives £12.5 - 15 per buy.

I don't think DAZN is THAT much different than HBO or Showtime with viewers. Granted there is the angle of delayed viewing time that may enhance their numbers. The mystery is how many watch live vs in the first 24hrs or w/e time table DAZN is using numbers for. But it's not like HBO and Showtime didn't have late showings of fights too it just wasn't at your leisure like DAZN has.

And again I'm not in the who's going outta business debate with this question. I'm just looking at comparable enough numbers to DAZN's 24hr numbers across multiple platforms to gauge how this fight did in the US market.
