What's with Winky's attitude

That is what I was saying earlier. Ring Generalship and Defense are supposedly two of the judging criteria. It just seems judges credit hard, effective punching much more. I guess this is the reality of the system and Winky should just adjust rather than try to change the system.

That's not only the way it is, it's the way it should be. Listen to my example one more time.

Fighter A throws twenty punches but lands zero flush

Fighter B blocks twenty punches but throws zero

There is no way anybody on this site would score the round to Fighter B. Nobody on the planet would do that. This is the point I am trying to make.

This guy is either insanely delusional or just full of B.S. After every round of every close fight he's in, the guy raises his hands as if to say, "I won that round". Here I'm watching him fight Vargas and after he clearly loses the 7th round, Winky throws his hands up and nods like he took it. Is he just playing to the judges or does he seriously think he wins every round? I'm thinking the latter because he acted like he dominated the fight vs. Taylor. Does he not realize that close rounds go to the guy with POP? If you land virtually equal numbers of punches, the guy who hits harder wins the round. And Wright hits harder than well...nobody. For Wright to win a round vs. Taylor or Vargas, he has to clearly outland them and he seldom did that against either one of those guys. The dude is just delusional acting like he clearly won either of those fights. No way, Winky.

He also lost rounds 10,11 and 12 in the Vargas fight as well. I think Winky truly believes he wins those rounds. It's possible he thinks that all those shots get blocked when in fact alot of them connect. Coming from Florida, he must have a lot of Jones in him.

Right but in this case not only was fighter B more often than not throwing more,landing more and blocking those......

That is clear but it is also an extreme example. What about Fighter A lands 10 punches in a round. 6 are jabs, 4 power shots, all are partially blocked
Fighter B lands 8 punches in a round. 6 are jabs, 2 power shots which land cleanly.

Who wins this round? I might be inclined to give it to Fighter B because his defense was the real difference in the round. I understand your point but I think that ring generalship and defense can be the deciding factors in an otherwise even round.

I was thinking about Wright the other day and I think he's overrated. If he runs into a guy who hits hard, goes to the body well, has a high workrate he'd have problems.
