Seems like you AJ fan boys hang on these mandatory excuses. Vacate the belts like many other champs have done.

Fu** those belts they don't mean sh** at the end of the day.

So you rather fight Pulev or w.e the bums name is for a sh**** belt than go after Wilder for example who holds the real belts anyway??

Have fun watching him fight the great 38 year old Pulev aka woman grabber for his sh**** WB whatever belt lol

He didn't take much damage from Ruiz so ought to be able to deal with Pulev in Spring leaving Usyk (more popular in UK) for summer blockbuster. Also, if he let the IBF go, it would be lost to Top Rank / PBC (Pulev / Kowanacki) for the foreseeable future. If he drops the WBO, it is Usyk v Parker; the winner of which is an easier fight to make because of the Matchroom link. Could have AJ v Pulev for IBF, WBA, IBO and Usyk v Parker for WBO on the same card.

          Vacate the belts??

          Why would he do that?

Not making excuses, doesn’t make sense for Joshua to vacate his belts to wait for a guy that has been rejecting career high money to fight him for well over a year.

The fight with the Fury/Wilder winner is even bigger if it’s for the undisputed. Only way I see Joshua vacating is if there isn’t enough time to defend both the IBF and WBO, not to wait around for PBC’s resident homeboy.

If both Wilder and Joshua handle business in early 2020 there is no excuse in making Wilder-Joshua in summer 2020 enough with the crap and make this fight already.

Pointless mandatories, Joshua had a 12 round sparring session against a guy almost 300lbs and wilder fought a ancient fighter who he already KO’ed years old.

Both of these guys need to fight already and stop wasting our time

It is fine that AJ clear his mandos. But no mention if there is a legit chance to fight either Wilder or AJ they would entertain the opportunity.

              It is back to business.

I am fine with this. It has to happen or he loses the belts. Hopefully, Usyk fights again at 200+ to get another training camp and fight under his belt before stepping up to Joshua. Looks like barring any unforseen craziness, Joshua has his 2020 booked through September. Any hope for a megafight with the Wilder/Fury winner is dim at best until 2021. That part is a bummer. Not surprising, but a drag.

Good fight, pretty much Pulev’s last stand but he’s solid top 10

I want AJ to fight Wilder, as Wilder is my favourite HW. That being said, I give AJ a ton of credit for going right back at Ruiz (who should be ashamed coming into that rematch looking as he did).

AJ could have taken a few muffins but wanted to reclaim his belts. Makes sense that he'd also be interested in keeping them so of course he has to fight his mandatories. Still would like to see him and hopefully Wilder (or Fury if he somehow prevails) fight in a unification at very end of 2020 or early 2021.

Pulev pulled out of fighting AJ ages ago and AJ fought Takam I believe. So he's been mandatory for like 2 years.

He's consensus top-10 ranked fighter so this is a good fight back in UK for AJ. Ideally this should be in March so the winner can fight Usyk in July.

Fury-Wilder will likely run it a third time.
