What was your take on Hunter V Povetkin result?

I watched the card at a party last night and was a little drunk to be fair and the party was getting messy and i was surrounded with Casuals who would not stop telling me their opinions when i was trying to concentrate on the fight.

Hunter v Povetkin looked a good fight, fight of the night? But from my obstructed view and obstructed concentration i felt that was a close but clear win for Hunter. Povetkin had his fair share of successes and a couple of times i thought Hunter was going down. But to me Hunter was picking off more rounds than the Russian was. Without actually scoring it i felt like at the end there would be a 3 or 4 round gap in Hunters favour on the cards.

But 1st chance i got to jump on the old social media it seemed the majority of people were happy enough with a draw, I heard more calls for Hunter winning than Povetkin but even those people were only giving it to Hunter by 1 and they felt a draw was fair enough.

Would that be the general feeling on the forum too?

I thought it was fair, Hunter didn't do enough to win. But Povetkin had a slow start so . . .

I thought Hunter edged it by a round or so.

A draw wasn’t the worst result, i can see it too when you calculate the rounds. I thought Hunter probably did the slightly better work over the course of the fight though, but you can definitely find 6 rounds for Povetkin, no more than that though.

Probably 7-5 to hunter or 6-6 was ok.

Haye went into Wlad's backyard and had the Klitschko's pulling all the dirty under-handed tricks to try and have him beaten before the opening bell. Haye trained properly and gave it his all, Wlad was just too big and too good for Haye. No shame in that, at least Haye tried. People like to hate on Haye more than is necessary. I get the impression a lot of them never actually seen the fight.

I thought the Draw was fair.
Hunter started fast and finished strong but Povetkin looked like the more natural heavyweight ( and some consider him small for HW ).
Povetkin was Landing Alot of hard combinations in the mid rounds. While at times it seemed Hunters legs weren't completely under him.

I had Povetkin edging it but a draw seemed like the right call.
IMO Hunter's too small for HW.
He might get Calvin Brocked against the Giants of the division.

Wrong thread, I voted for Haye vs Kiltschko being a bigger let down 'Not because of Haye's lack of effort, I just feel as if he could of left it all in the ring abit more etc'

He most certainly redeemed himself when he fought Tony Bellew in their first fight 'That was the perfect time to retire, he lost the boxing match but? Gained massive respect/admiration in his losing effort'.

Povetkin by a hair for me, but I'm OK with the draw - I had bet on it

Haha, bro. I swear to God I posted in the right thread. Not the first time BoxingScene has sent my post into the wrong thread.

The scoring was fair. One round either way was OK as well....two judges had it 115-113 for each guy. Lots of very close rounds, and each guy hurt the other guy.

This would be a better rematch than another Joshua-Ruiz mismatch.
