Embarrassing. When you win a world title and are offered more money, life changing money and a chance to prove your win was no fluke and none of that can motivate you to train or get in shape? Showed up 15 pounds fatter? You can't disrespect the sport of boxing thinking I don't have to train or be in shape. This is the difference between great fighters and flash in the pan. Anybody can have 1 great night but it takes discipline to be great and motivated night after night.

You can’t be 280ish at that height for a HW fight. Jump Foreman said it perfectly, even though I picked Ruiz to stop AJ again, I didn’t think him coming in at that weigh was going to help.
Some of us thought he was fooling with the weights, but no one actually ever said he had a 5 pound sombrero, someone said 3 pounds which is probably about right. There was so much misinfo about his weight that it was confusing to say the least.

He was an undisciplined fat fuck.

And AJ still couldn't KO him.

Canelo should have fought AJ he would have done better job

Ruiz should have known he got lucky, and trained his ass off instead he has been living the high life.

Canelo on the other hand always prepares hard and has smart gameplans no matter the fame or money.

He was smart enough not to try.

Blaming the loss on his trainer.. wow... I wonder if Manny will continue training him after this. Very undisciplined and disrespectful to the sport of boxing. Maybe someone whispered in his ear that he would make more money in the long run by fighting AJ a 3rd time...

He never took his top off until the fight for a reason. He looked absolutely awful, i mean even by his standards.

It was funny, i was with my brother in law and was saying i’m not sure the weight gain will be much of a factor for Ruiz, he’s always fat anyway and then he took his top off and i was like “...i take that back”

I wouldn't go and say he got lucky he beat the crap out of AJ he got destroyed that night and it will always be a stain in his boxing resume
