Joshua boxes: "masterclass!". Floyd boxes: "all he did was RUN!" seems legit

Because once again, as proven even when Roach was made to watch the fight back...there's a difference in what happened. Joshua was CONSTANTLY on the move even at times he didn't need to be. Good...it got him a blowout. But that's not the same as what Floyd did to Manny, which is stand right in front of him and frustrate the hell out of him.

All I'm saying is, if you think Joshua ran, okay, Floyd ran. But if you think (as the majority of people on NSB think) that Joshua put on a masterclass, then we need to stop saying Floyd "ran". "Running" assumes movement. In this playback, point out where Floyd is moving at all and contrast that to Joshua:

It's embarrassing that people are bringing great boxers and counterpunchers into this as a way to shield Joshua from criticism. Like mentioning Floyd is some amazing gotcha. What happened last night would have been the equivalent of Floyd running scared against that Japanese kickboxer. I honestly was expecting Joshua to destroy that guy. I really don't give a **** if Ruiz can counterpunch - he's a ****ing fat midget that shouldn't even be in the ring with a champion, but Joshua fought that man like he was scared to engage. People can say he did what he had to do, that's true, he did. It's just sad. Joshua is not the fighter I thought he was.

What shield are you talking about?

        I want consistency.

IF you feel Joshua fought scared, fine. Floyd fights scared.

But IF you feel Joshua put on a clinic, then Floyd put on a clinic.

        Consistent. That's all.

You're making no damn sense. Some of you people have conflated countering and smart boxing with "fighting scared" for so long that you're actually starting to believe they are same thing.

It's clear you're not reading what I'm not saying.

IF YOU THINK JOSHUA PUT ON A CLINIC, THEN STOP SAYING FLOYD "RAN" AGAINST MANNY BECAUSE HE MOVED LESS AGAINST MANNY THAN JOSHUA DID AGAINST RUIZ.

            Get it MF?

We're actually agreeing with each other except...

I don't believe this is true at all. Joshua fought Ruiz like a coward, he was afraid of being countered by the little butterball. Floyd nullified Manny's offense, had him scared to let his hands go. This is why one performance was that of a master boxer and why I believe the other was that of someone who was afraid.

I don't care what anyone thinks. I'm simply asking that they be consistent with what they think.

Do I believe that Joshua fought scared? Nervous, yes. I said that in my scorecard thread; it was clear in his eyes. But let's not fool ourselves into thinking that Floyd wasn't nervous as well up through round 4 when he got clipped. After that, he made adjustments, got clipped again in 6, made more adjustments and was cool as a fan the rest of the fight. But he was absolutely nervous in the first few rounds and his dad wasn't helping matters.

Nerves happen to every fighter and I excuse it. What bothers me is when people on NSB swear up and down that Floyd "ran" when he barely moved except round 12 at the end; then you got Joshua doing nothing BUT moving and it's a clinic. That's inconsistent. That's the problem.
