Will Ruiz' weight gain have a negative impact on his performance?

No it won't.
If the weight was all in his hips and belly then you could be worried.
But the weight looks like its in his chest arms and shoulders.. so if you compare how he looks now to how he usually looks, that weight gain wasn't due to fat( or we would see the increase in his hips and belly)
That weight gain was due to a power increase. This is the best I have ever seen ruiz look.

Yes, he's 273 pounds of pure muscle now. With a 10 pound hat on.
Given that you've seen him wobble his way to the scales. How likely do you think that is?
I'll just repeat. No-one who spends their life at 6'1 and 270 pounds IMPROVES THROUGH TRAINING and somehow gains another 10-15 pounds. No-one.Comment

I'm not saying he is pure muscle. I don't think it's a good thing for him to be heavier than last time. I know it is not a full 15 pounds but probably close to 10.
I get tired of reading the fat jokes... I mean is half of this forum a bunch of teenagers. I'll judge it when he starts boxing. If he loses speed I think he's in trouble.Comment
