    Still, 280+ is HEAVY
Heavy indeed, but i agree, the more i think about it:

Ruiz isn’t going to be fighting on the backfoot or going for any form of agility. His tactic is get closer to AJ and throw short punchers. Maybe he can bully AJ easier with the added weight.

AJ is going to be the one trying to keep it long and move, we can see that by the weight loss. But AJ doesn’t have great stamina, so Ruiz may not be too concerned about stamina because AJ won’t be working at a fast pace either.

To really box and move for 12 rounds, it’s not just conditioning or losing the weight, you need to develop a style and the IQ for it for years. Guys that can do that have a great ring craft where they know when to take breathers, slow down the pace of the fight, spoil if they have to. Guys like Floyd and Fury do it very well. It’s an IQ that’s developed and you’re not going to learn it in 3 months.

So my feeling is AJ might even box well at the start but he hasn’t got the ring craft to keep it up and Ruiz will be waiting, then use that mass to bully him when he slows down and get close to him and make it count.

Yea, but according to boxrec, he hasn't weighed this much since 2009, in his second fight.

You were watching him in his second fight?

But this is the strongest I've ever seen him look. He's looked like shlt most of his careeer and he still performed well and won. This isn't even andy's heaviest weight. I remember him coming in at 290 once.

This is the best I've ever seen andy look. He looks powerful.
Yes .Ive just been online on the BBC boxing site and it said Ruiz was heavier for the 2nd fight. My immediate reaction was this is a Roberto Duran moment all over again when he partied way to hard and became arrogant after beating Sugar Ray Leonord the first time. What happened then as Iam sure your aware is Duran didnt perform like he did in the first when he was all fired up and subsequently lost to a more strategic Leonard.

Soon as I saw the picture though I could tell Ruiz looks in decent shape. Iam relieved as well as Ive already payed £25 for the fight via Sky Sports and want a good fight 😉

I think a lot of that is most likely muscle, it's just underneath a layer of polar bear fat....

283 lbs seems to be way too much. I expected Ruiz to come in lighter not heavier.

Big baby miller has given ruiz his meds team for this fight seemingly. Otherwise how can you eat yourself as obese as the average american male and still be dancing after 12 rounds?

I was saying all along Ruiz was at 300 or slightly north when he began camp. When they were talking about him losing weight it was from that level. His first promo for the fight in Saudi Arabia, with no shirt on, he looked like a whale. That extra 15 pounds is probably 85% fat like you said. This does feel like Buster Douglas 2.0. And I liked Ruiz. This is a disappointment if he ends up looking like geabage in ring. I was looking forward to a good fight.

Ruiz is on his way to full maidana

Joshua boxes his ears off tomorrow and Ruiz will ride out into the sunset with enough money to buy a snickers factory
