That's mediocre for the face of boxing. I think Joshua and Ruiz might surpass him with this Saudi fight.

Just a reminder, no American heavyweight besides Wilder has drawn a dime since Evander Holyfield

He doesn't have to do Canelo numbers to be considered a success. Canelo is the biggest star in combat sports globally.

Just a reminder, PBC did approximately 1.8 million PPVs in 2019. At a cost of $74.99 a PPV that is approximately $135,000,000 before taxes.

            PPV is not dead.

Well yeah, Canelo left a huge hole full of money to be made by leaving PPV.

PBC is just eating the scraps.

Makes no sense why any fan would want to pay $75 to watch fights.

Whatever happened to free boxing, LMAO. I actually liked that PBC.

Come on dude. Most of the PBC fights air on Fox or FS1, which you don't have to pay an additional fee. The PPVs are special events which they charge for.

People can spend their money as they wish. Some people probably look at you and wonder why would someone pay a yearly fee for a service they only watch a couple hours a week?

The point is this-PPV remains a viable market for casual fans even though dazn is better for the diehard boxing fan.

Notice that dazn reps have talked about expanding into PPV. They see how much revenue is generated and want a cut.

Me too. It was obviously just a ploy to make people cough up $ for ppv's. Too bad

Just a reminder-Canelo did more than that in each fight he had with GGG in previous years, which means $17 mil is a significant drop.
