My parents never were but I had an uncle that was and is a big boxing fan who got me into it.
He would buy a lot of PPV’s in the early 90’s and would invite us over.
I remember a packed house for Tyson/Holyfield 2 and how shocked everyone was.
At his retirement party he got the De La Hoya/Vargas fight. Everyone was hyped for that one.Comment

Well the first boxing match I ever went to was with my dad back in the 80s. He was more than a casual but not hardcore like me.
I think the last time we ever watched a fight together was for Lewis-Vitali. I totally forgot about that fight but my dad was the one who reminded me to watch it.Comment

My dad's a boxing fan.
Mom's too busy to care.
Recently found out that my Grandfather ( mom's side ) is a huge boxing fan.
Gotta have a sit down conversation with him and pick his brain.Comment

My dad boxed in the Marine Corps world war 2. He was not a great fighter, not even that good but loved the sport. He also loved Joe Louis and later on, along with my mother, loved Ali. I am more a martial artist but incorporate boxing with my own kids.
My dad felt like the skill of the game was the beauty, and not the violence and I feel the same way. I mean we have to accept both, but the interest is in the skills for my family. For my mother it was Ali and his courage that made her watch a fight now and then.Comment

My dad is a real boxing fan like I am. My mom loved Muhammad Ali when she was a kid and will sit and watch the huge fights with us, but she's not really a "fan" anymore.Comment
