I was 9 years old when I saw my first live event. Giraldo Cordova Cardin tournament back in Cuba. Rolando Garbey, Betancourt, Stevenson was very young, Andres Molina, the Carrillos brothers, Russians, Coreans, Mongolians, France, England, they all went to Cuba for tournaments like Playa Giron. Great cards. Man that was real boxing.

Wow ! You are really lucky! I'm a bit jealous... Went to Cuba about 10 years ago and stopped at the iconic Rafael Trajo gym. The place looked like a dump...Metal roof over an outdoor ring, heavy bags half empty, no training equipment.. And all the fighters were trying to sell me their gear cause they were hungry. Very sad.

It's like the WBA Super Champion is the Champion, the Regular Champion is #1 Contender and the #1 Contender has a shot at the Regular or Interim Title..

Dont ask me how the Interim Title works.
There's also the WBA gold title

Actually, per WBA rules, the WBA 'Super' champion is not mandated to fight the 'regular' and will never have to.

Unless Ugas or Bes***** become PPV stars over night, Pac will not fight them. Money is simply not there.

Manny can remain champion for 2 years without a fight, and still have the WBA Super belt. Ask Thurman

Back Cuba had the help of the Soviet Union. Things were not as bad as it is today.

Mikey Garcia, Danny and Porter are not PPV stars either.

I guess Pacquiao will have 2-3 more fights. Money will always be there for him.

Sticking with the excessive WBA titles

I see Jermall Charlo is defending his WBC belt vs Dennis Hogan

in the co-main event Chris Eubank fights Matt Korobov for the Interim WBA title .. LOL

So I guess Canelo as the WBA Super & Ryota Murata as the regular isn't enough WBA titles at Middleweight
