So much for the WBA trying to eliminate belts....

I was hoping they would only make a new 'regular' champion when the current WBA holder attempts to unify, wins and owns another belt - well no need to be a unified champ to become 'super' Actually, making 'super' and 'regular' is already bad enough now they just move another step further with their corruption. The WBA have always done this BS
look at when Super WBA champ GGG "unified" with Regular WBA champ Danny Jacobs in 2017.
The WBA just created another title
Pac & Thurman "unified" WBA belts, here's the WBA again creating another title
**I thought they made a statement a couple years back claiming they'd cut back on title belts in their own organization

So the WBA claimed it would only have 1 belt holder, what, 2 years now? Manny and Thurman just unified the Super and Regular titles.. then outta nowhere these 2 fight for the same regular title a year later?
It's like the WBA Super Champion is the Champion, the Regular Champion is #1 Contender and the #1 Contender has a shot at the Regular or Interim Title..
Dont ask me how the Interim Title works.Comment

You can unify a regular if a super title doesn’t exist in the division.Gamboa was at one point holding 2 belts with WBA 'regular' being one of them. Inoue also held both the WBA 'regular' and IBF before winning the 'super' against Donaire in the WBSS finals.
Not trying to defend WBA's corrupt system, just saying those things happened beforeComment

Maybe as per WBA rules. But those examples I mentioned, there was an existing ‘super’ champion.
Chris John was a ‘super’ champ that time when Gamboa was IBF and WBA ‘regular’. The weird thing is, the super champ wasn’t the unified champ but rather the regular wasComment
