  • Why does Wilder claim he was robbed v. Fury?

The count seemed fair to me — the only legitimate argument that Wilder had an unfair shake in my opinion was that most times a knockdown like that is a TKO / waved off after that sort of hard landing on the canvas. Even so, I don’t consider that a “true” robbery as it’s within the rights of each ref to decide.

I also think it’s poor boxing logic to say what I’ve heard many say: “you don’t win a fight by getting knocked down twice”. Don’t boxing fans realize how fights are scored?

With that all said, I think Wilder is a hall of fame HW and will most likely beat Fury and whoever else (AJ or Andy) and unify the belts. I don’t think he gets beat until late in his career.

That said, I STILL don’t understand these arguments that he was robbed that I am constantly hearing.

And I don’t understand why people claim Wilder’s detractors do so due to racism, either. Most people who hate Wilder love Ali or Tyson (both black fighters). So I don’t think that argument holds up very well...

    Thoughts on all this?

im a wilder fan for sure...

and yeah...no way was he robbed....

im guessing its just an ego play....i think deep down wilder was disappointed in his performance....wilder loves delivering on his ko's....and he didn't...he thought he was about to.....i don't think he could believe fury got up and neither could I really....i do believe wilder when he said he really wanted to deliver and got so wound up in it that he didn't fight as well as he could have

he was robbed because a motionless fighter after a KO is an automatic KO. I've never seen a ref allow a fighter to rise from a mini coma. and Fury had a 50 pound weight advantage he should be ashamed of himself gettin dropped in the first place

I don't care at all for Wilder. Don't like his personality or fighting style.

But, he was clearly robbed by that midget ref letting Fury walk around a few seconds which proved to be extremely costly.

        That was complete BS.

Well, a champion decks his opponent twice and in 8 of the other 10 rounds, the difference in landed punches is two or less. Further, the champion is the aggressor the whole night and is usually landing the harder shots.

Now, to be clear, I personally think a draw was the perfect call. Collectively, the judges got this one right.

But, just as I get Fury's opinion since he did box beautifully, I also see where Wilder has a legit gripe and historically Deontay may have more of an argument than Tyson does.

Im a Fury fan but you know what, you are right lol. It’s pretty unheard of where a ref allowed a fighter to rise from a coma inside the ring.

it's because he was. with the 2 KD's. that means Wilder only had to win 2 of the remaining rounds to win the fight.

He easily did. Tyson didn't dominate. it is a gross exaggeration.

Cuz Wilders a tit. He knows he lost that fight and he knows he was lucky to get away with a draw. He had to be told to celebrate at the end of the fight. But its no surprise cuz hardly anything he says is factual or accurate.
