Who has anyone else beaten to be ranked number 2? Enough said. You're wasting your time. Marg has been undefeated for years there, and there haven't been that many good fighters there anyway to beat. If you can think of 1 or 2 ppl that should be ranked ahead of him that aren't already, you're just reachin from your ass.

He may not have beaten the elite of the elite, but he has beaten anybody that challenged him and he holds a title. The only person I could even argue to put in front of him would be Collazo and it would be hard to do that since he is coming off of a loss. Williams and Quintana have not beaten anybody as good as Cintron (and I am not a big Cintron fan); Zab is coming off of 2 straight losses so you can't really put him there. Other than those guys I don't see who you could rate at #2.

          Exactly.
Tony has never really beaten a good fighter, hes handpicked him opposition so he could stay undefeated for so long.
He has argubly the worst record of any other champion in boxing today.

What about Mosley, DLH, Mayorga, Forrest, Quartey, Judah or Spinks???
All guys that were around at 147 when Tony was champ.
And Margirito didnt even fight ONE of those guys.

He hasn't handpick his oppoents anymore than anyone else did. Mosley said he wasn't ready for Tony, and Tony was never even given a chance at 147 by the champs there (Mos, Forrest, Mayorga). You obviously did not pay attn to what happened at 147 when Tony was there.

                Never given a chance?
He never sought out the chance!
He was content to fight Danny Perez, Maurice Brantley and Hercules Kyvelos!

Cintron is a 'good' but not great fighter. Santos is a 'good' but not great fighter. Although Santos was at 154. Lewis was a fighter with good skills, but a bad chin. These wins along with his history of success at 147 vs whoever he COULD get to fight him make him worthy of a number 2 rating by RING.

No one says Marg is even p4p top 10 though, so hacking on his resume is pointless. PBF is the one who says he is p4p number 1.

Sorry, but that is a crock of ****. Like I said, you don't even know. He begged for Mosley and Mayorga to fight him, and they never did. They considered him too much risk for too little reward.

You've been around boxing long enough to know that if you get suspended in Nevada most other commissions won't license a fight for you, either.

Back on topic, I think Clottey-Margarito would be a very good fight. I've seen Clottey a couple of times, and he's a pretty decent fighter and very tough. The problem with the fight the other night is that they were so close he was smothering himself. He needs a few more inches to get the proper pop on his punches. Margarito might give him that since they both like to fight close, but not chest-to-chest. I think Margarito would win, but it would be a great fight to watch.
