    Clottey v. Margarito: Thoughts?

This fight HAS NOT BEEN MADE YET. But it has been discussed on several websites. What do people think about the possible match? What do people think about the possible outcomes?
My opinion was that Clottey was not very impressive in winning. I think that Margarito would dominate him and eventually KO him. Clottey seemed to have a pretty good chin but Gutierrez definitely doesn't punch like Margarito. Cloettey seemed to have a good body attack also. But he didn't seem very fluid and didn't put his punches together well. And for a guy that supposedly runs 12 miles a day, he looked incredibly tired towards the end of the fight. Did other people have different impressions... I don't want to rag on him too hard as this is the first of his fights that I have seen.

    Clottey isnt that good.
Tony would take another easy fight and whine about not getting a good fight when about 6 people have called him out.

Just because you call Tony out doesn't mean you deserve a fight with him.

Anyway, let's stick to the topic. Clottey is simply not on Tony's level. If he won it'd be a huge upset and would make Clottey a name. Clottey running 12 miles a day is WAY too much and probably explains why he was tired.

But the issue is, those who are calling him out are better than any of his other potential opponents.

So you think that he was tired from over-training not under-training. But what do you think he would do against Margarito (other than lose)? I mean how would he even go about attacking Margarito? He seems to really like attacking the body, but that would leave him open to a big shot upstairs. My problem with Clottey is that his biggest attribute is size and he won't be able to impose his size against Margarito.

That Gutierrez kid was hard puncher...don't kid yourselves. His bodyshots were making sickeningly dull thuds on Clotteys ribs...he could definitely ****.

Clottey is a good fighter. His double left hook upstairs and down is a great weapon. I think he could give Margarito some problems because he's naturally more athletic and he's very strong. He also has a pretty good defense...keeps his guard high and takes some shots on his arms/gloves.

I'd be interested to see the fight. Remember, Clottey was beating the now Welterweight champ Baldomir in a fight where he was DQ'ed for leading with his head (something he was warned for against Gutierrez).

I'd rather see this fight than a Margarito/Rivera fight for sure.

Not Ishe Smith. Not Collazo. Those guys are no better than Jose Rivera, who Tony has already responded to. The fight with (Jose) Rivera will probably be set up by the looks of things.

I only saw Clottey fight once, and it wasn't against Gutierrez. From what I remember, Clottey is a solid fighter but I think his style lends itself to a ****er like Tony. I just don't see anyone going toe-to-toe at 147 with Tony. Clottey covers up well though, and he'll need to vs Tony.

Saying Clottey is more dangerous to Tony than Rivera is a pretty big statement.

Yeah from what I have seen of both Rivera and Clottey, I think Rivera is clearly the more dangerous foe. Like you said Super, nobody wants to **** toe-toe with Margarito at 147. Rivera would be at 154 and Rivera is a much more capable boxer than Clottey. Clottey's main advantage is his size and that will not be an issue against Margarito.

                    Judah, Quintiana, Collazo and Willaims.
I doubt very much that Tony will move up.
