All those fights came after he was champion.

      It isn’t pure insanity.

I acknowledged that Ali was old and shot. But he was still one fight removed from being heavyweight champion.

It’s on par with Joshua’s win over Klitschko.

berbick beating Ali's skeleton means zero. It's still the only Ali fight I've never seen and never will.

ITS ALL EXPLAINED IN THE VIDEO...

if you only wanna count LINEAL title defenses then you have to do it all the way across the board
But Wilder's team openly said that he wasn't ready to fight Wlad after he became WBC champion. He was a former Olympic medalist, 29 years old and 33 - 0 when that happened.

None of the champs you mentioned there ever openly admitted that they weren't good enough to fight another title holder during their reigns.

This is why fighters don’t take risks anymore and make the fights the public wants.
They can fight anyone and guys like Larry will make excuses and try and spin it as something significant. You can’t compare Wilder’s career to any of the all timers much less the true TBE like Ali.

              In YOUR opinion!!
Of all the boxers he defended against:
12 of them had 10+ losses.
Of those 12, 4 had 20+ losses, of those 4,2 had 30+ losses and only 6 had 5 or less losses.
Not a single guy was undefeated and one of them had a 3-3 record.
So on paper none of them was any better than Wilder's opponents, they were worse.
Skill wise and eye test, none of them including joe louis looked as skilled or as good as Luis Ortiz.

You're very uneducated about the history of boxing.

The WBA traces to the NBA, which was always considered the inferior title. On top of that, the WBA split into the IBF and WBO, as well as splitting the WBA title into super and world versions. A fighter would have to unify the WBA Super, WBA World, IBF and WBO titles just to be the modern equivalent of the NBA champion. You're not allowed to unify all of those titles, so it's impossible for a fighter to gain equivalent recognition as the NBA, and the NBA itself was always considered inferior to begin with.

On the other hand, the WBC is a merger of all of the other major recognized world championships and the WBC has never split. When you hold the WBC title, you hold the history of the NYSAC title, which was always the most highly respect, as well as the IBU and NSC titles. Do your homework. Know your history. The modern WBA champion is just one fourth of the old NBA champion, while the modern WBC champion is the unified NYSAC/IBU/NSC champion.
