Anyone else think this is Dana getting in the heads of the ESPN execs of how poor the ratings are and that he could do a better job?

Boxing ratings as an whole are decreasing, but a Gvozdyk/Beterviev is a great match up for the hardcores, but not so much for the casuals.

I think that's probably why he delayed the announcement of Zuffa Boxing

I mean it is no secret he despises Arum and on the Mannix podcast or whatever podcast it was, he blasted the way TR was doing on ESPN. That was the tell tale sign that he was eventually coming for that spot. He's going to try to get a budget as big as the one TR has eventually.

Say Beterbiev + boxing to most people in the US and they think you’re talking about Butterbean.

They would have, if Crawford hadn't low blowed Khan out of frustration.

I think TR needs to stop this thing where they move guys up and instead of making one good fight where a guy loses they give us 2 easy fights and fans don't care.

For example Make Stevenson/Valdez and put it on ESPN instead of Stevenson v some bum on PPV and Valdez vs some unknown Mexican on the app.

...that wasn't a Big Fight, it never was and no the PPV buys would not have been higher if Crawford didn't hit Khan in the Nuts

Had Crawford won that legit, with a highlight reel KO inside of 3 rounds (meaning, better than Danny), they would have heavily marketed him as a threat and dangerous, and Khan is known internationally.

The low blow left people unsure: why was he unable to spark a damaged Khan when Danny did it years ago?

NO I don't think so, the PPV performed Poorly, even if he scored the impressive KO it still would not have made much of a difference honestly

Khan robbed the Bank, he walked out of that ring without getting knocked out again and Made $5 Million in the process so props to him I guess

Seriously, Top Rank have no one but themselves to blame. No one on earth wants to see fights like Gilberto Ramirez vs. his milkman or Oscar Valdez vs. his gardener. Put your guys in actual competitive fights and people will want to watch. Only the dumbest of diehards will tune in for some of this junk they put on.

Beterbiev vs. Gvozdyk was the kind of fight you almost never see from Top Rank
