Well, the ball is on him....I don't see Ruiz winning.
    At least not in SA.

You have horrible judge of character to not be able to tell. Smh
AJ has been neutered by Ruiz. His eyes scream "save me...I have found my inner damaged child and I have zero mental strength."

Personally I'm 50/50 on the fight, which means Ruiz' odds are very good value.

But you can't spend value. Only money.

Only bet what you can afford to lose.

          No Don't Do It!

Boxing is too corrupt to take such a risk IMO. One of the reason why I never gambled on it. I took side Bets from Co-Works or whatever who hated Mayweather so much that they would Naively pick whoever he was fighting over him

Other than that, don't ever trust this Sport!

He's done it before by putting the majority of his savings which was around $85,000 on Mayweather moneyline vs Mcgregor, but since the odds were so crappy, he didn't get back much in return.

He's pretty much set in doing it again by putting it on Ruiz. His reasoning is because AJ supposedly suffered a severe panic attack meaning that in the rematch, all of the pressure and eyes will be on him and he believes he will suffer yet another panic attack because everything will be overwhelming.

He also believes he's mentally weak, which makes since as he clearly quit when the going got tough.

He said this will be the last time he bets this big again, but he's been saying for months that Ruiz is holding all of the cards in the rematch.

He has not placed the wager yet as he's waiting to get the best odds possible, then he's going to unload it all at the Westgate superbook on the very last day. So if anyone is at that sports book, you can see him making the wager there during that time.

You probably wont be able to convince him not to make this wager as his mind is pretty much made up, but what advice do you have? Do you think this is a solid bet?
              I think it's a terrible idea.

Never bet money that you cannot afford to lose....even in a two horse race.

He cannot be sure or know to a certaintly that AJ suffered a panic attack - I doubt it as when (until that win anyway) has Ruiz been a panic inducing fighter.

I suspect that AJ is telling the truth when he says the late replacement Ruiz was taken too lightly...

There are just many intangible and variables....no such thing as a sure bet unless you have inside info, and even then...?

I think your father's dislike of AJ (fair enough, we all have views / opinions) has coloured his objectivity....and he's seeing the fight through that prism.

Could be a very costly lesson....especially with Brexit looming.

Your dad is simply throwing away money because Ruiz won't win this time. Smart money is on the fight going over 6 or 7 rounds. The odds aren't even that good to take a risky bet against AJ .

I've tried telling him to only put a fraction of money on the fight, but he says he wants to get it all in because according to him, it's as close to a sure win as you can get.

I'm a little suspect on these types of big claims. If you go to Vegas and drop anything over 10G's they make you fill out paper work so just by getting the IRS eyes on you makes me hesitant to ever bet that big.

I think the most I ever bet was like 2g's in the Vegas sports book and thats when I was making that phat GM salary!
He got back close to $19k

He's filled out paperwork on it.

It will be a rather large return. Much more than may/mcgregor, that's for sure.

He was acting like a genius when the mayweather bet hit.
