Moving on to Luis Ortiz you could even see the time the ref was at 9 and Luis Ortiz was trying to get on his feet or whether he got on his feet on time (whatever) he was still visibly disorientated thus the fight being waived of. If the round is over, they usually make the call in the corner rather than waving it straight off. He didn't need to face another punch. And it was waved off without so much as a check of his condition.

Joshua after Round 3 v Ruiz . Could barely walk to his corner after the second knockdown. Continued.
Wilder after Round 7 v Ortiz. Staggered to his corner after shipping punishment that could have stopped the fight. I've no doubt the ref considered how long was left in the round when he let him fight on.

It would be different if he had been beaten up for 6 rounds. Prolonging the damage doesn't help anyone.

But if he's 4 rounds up, well on top, and the round is over, there's no harm in him getting the minute in the corner to see if he can recover. If he beat the count.

That was just odd??? I’ve watched a lot of boxing but that was just weird? They didn’t even ring the bell? They stopped at like 2 seconds???
I was looking for anything unusual from the start of the fight so there's a risk of confirmation bias here.

I'll err on the side of poor production rather than conspiracy, but I agree that usually we can clearly understand where the count is at.

These people saying he was definitely counted out - I don't know where they are getting that from. They may be right, but is there anywhere showing it clearly?

I could've sworn Bayliss has always started counting at 4 & he is one of the most prolific" waved it off without a count or regardless of count "refs there is.

Well the official record says KO, so he was counted out rather than waved off.

Also says after 2 minutes 51. So maybe we can't believe everything we see.

Sounds like ref was compromised to stop the fight! A lot of money in Fury rematch. Wilder losing badly on points prior to stoppage! Bayless always protected gayweather!🤔

              Boxing doesn't need another casualty.

What I don't like is I've seen him CLEARLY do the complete OPPOSITE??? Nothing he does is consistent (unless it's for Floyd). I've seen fights where he won't even count until the guy is CLEARLY in a neutral corner???I've seen him do VERY slow counts. I've seen him STOP fights to check imaginary bites to a glove???

He fkn SUKS! And I know many friends who refuse to buy PPV fights if he's the ref. for the main fight.

I didn't buy the Pac fight just for that reason. After seeing him judge the 2nd Floyd/Maidana fight??? I was like NOPE!!!
