I hate to say it, but I think Wilder would've beaten Prime Tyson

Yeah, Tyson would’ve overwhelmed him. Deontay gets away with a lot because of his crazy power and raw athleticism, but Mike would’ve made him pay for all his flaws. I’m not trying to put Wilder down, by the way. It’s just the way I see it.Comment

I remember, people thought Tyson was the hardest puncher ever. Many still do. It’s impossible to tell, but to my eye, Wilder seems to hit even harder. Doesn’t matter. Either one could knock the other out with one punch. The difference is that Mike was nearly a perfect package in his prime. He was a buzzsaw. I think Deontay would’ve been overwhelmed. He wouldn’t have gotten enough time or space to unload that killer right.I'm not sure deonta y does hit harder. There was a time people thought Tyson hit as hard as shavers etc when.Tyson kept stopping people in a round or two
But Tyson does beat wilder. Wilder can't expect to land one punch after taking a pummeling from Tyson for 6 rounds. Tyson too dangerous. You had to wear Tyson down but Tyson was elusive in primeComment

The problem with wilder is that he is not a good boxer, head hunts way too much and he has no good head movement or counter punching ability. If he did not have that scary right hand, he could have lost the fights to ortiz both times and to fury. His right hand is like an eraser that covers his flaws. If he fights a prime tyson, tyson would have got to him real fast, and stop or KO him early.
I think if tyson fury fights him again next year, tyson fury would give him a VERY difficult time if wilder didn't KO him. Wilder sure as hell isn't going to outbox fury.Comment

I like Wilder. Years ago I was telling others he would win a heavyweight title. Awesome power. However, I would guess that some of you are too young to remember what a terror the pre Don King Tyson was. He would brutalize Wilder and very early. Back then Tyson had very good head movement and wasn't the easiest guy to hit flush. Also even trying to stand firm and exchange with him was a very risky proposition. The only version of Tyson I could see Deontay with a chance was the post prison version. Just my opinionComment

I think Peak tyson is a myth and he is way over rated but still would have put Ortiz away inside 2 rounds and Wilder would get banjo'd round the ring; probably pooped his pants and lost before getting in there with Mike like most did in the mid 80's.Comment

I think Tyson would slip his way inside Wilder's reach and wreck that fool with lightning fast combos. yeah he has the right hand... but to prevent Tyson from coming in he's gonna need a jab. and he doesn't have one. and Tyson's neck was strong as fck gonna take more than one shot. but this is all fantasy no need to catch feelingsComment

Not to defend ear muncher, but both of your fun facts are wrong.fun fact. Tyson has never come back and won a fight. He also doesn't have late KO's. he is the purest definition of a front runner.
Basically Wilder will beat him 10/10 times. Wilder doesn't even start fighting until the 6th round. He will put one hand on Tyson's head and evade for the first 6. then finish him with 1 shot.
Tony Tucker was 6'5 and moved a lot better than Wilder.Last edited by BKM-; 11-24-2019, 07:26 AM.Comment

Why has this thread not been deleted yet? Worst thing is those few select idiots who get too giddy after a Wilder win and come on here talking about Wilder beating Tyson always revert back to the Buster Douglas fight. Mike Tyson was a complete mess for that fight, he was a sick man full of disease and party drugs.Comment
