How hard does Deontay Wilder hit compared to Foreman, Tua, Shavers etc?

Thats like taking a boxer from the 40's-60 era and getting them to knock out modern big heavyweights. (he weighs less than Joe Louis)

But I dont think they can, but he sure can.

How does he compare to the other extreme elite in history? (in terms of punching power)

Like Foreman, Shavers Tua etc?

Thats because Wilder cant long hook properly yet, he should do it Russian style if you twist the fist and elbow over its hard to get it wrong, but with a vertical fist it takes more skill and finesse, (even though you are doing 1 thing less) and when you torque as violently as he does thats hard to do. (the arms want to straighten out, windmill etc)

The "Russian" way is more robust/reliable, its more likely to work for him.

I wonder if you could contain his power by fighting right up his chest all night. He has amazing power at range and I’d bet a Klitscko would wear him out with the hit and hug to nullify Wilder.

Right behind Foreman probably. I always thought Shavers was a LITTLE overrated as far as his power. A good deal of his reputation came from Ali who built him up a bit with some of what he said" Hit so hard shook my kinfolk back in Africa". I think Ali did this for 2 reasons. 1st Shavers did hit like a truck, and 2nd it was a way to defect from Foreman who Ali did not want to fight again after 3rd Frazier fight in 75 which all but finished Ali. The Shavers fight was in 77, and by that time Ali did not have much left. Tua could really hit with the hook, but not on Wilder's level imo. Foreman had heaviest hands in history imo, and could punch with both hands. Wilder has more "snap" power much like a T Hearns. Its close, but I would still take Foreman with Wilder the 2nd hardest all time. Without a doubt though we are witnessing one of the most dangerous puncher's in history, and its a shame all the haters are missing it. Who hates a HUGE punching guy with a NASTY killer instinct??? No matter how bad his skills are compared to other top heavys in history.

Wilder has more one shot power then all of them if were talking real. He has knocked out bigger stronger guys then the rest named that's why hes undefeated not counting fury whos 6'9 though . If Wilder fought the same guys they knocked out he'd do it faster if he landed with less amount of punches ..though some are illegal I put him over Shavers and Foreman.

Good point about Wilder's hook. At this point I would almost tell him not to throw it at all. He leaves himself so open when he throws it, and being inside is not a place he wants to be anyways. I don't see him improving on it at this point. He should just keep working on that jab which at times can be pretty good, and makes that killer right hand even more dangerous.
