Great comment, it is not his Olympic record that is legendary it his amateur record. Thanks for keeping me honest. Solid carried high hopes here I wish I had an understanding of why he underperformed as it relates to the other Cuban standouts.I personally can't wait for the fight and I think it's excellent! However in trying to remain objective, I think it's at least fair to offer my opinion.
Ortiz was never an Olympian, so I don't know how he can have the best Olmypic record? Infact he played second fiddle to a HW called Odlanair Solis (the dude who pulled out mid fight with a knee injury). It was Solis who won Olympic gold and almost all of the Cuban championships, World championships etc. I think Ortiz won the cuban once? (In 05 or 06 maybe) But mostly claimed bronze and silvers.
As far as ducking goes - well neither you nor I really have any proof, besides what people say. I am 100% convinced that Ortiz will tell you Whyte ducked him, however I am equally sure Whyte would claim the very same. The only fact we really have, is that Ortiz's team declined a fight with AJ, for what sounds like a promise of more money vs Wilder. Can we at least agree that AJ doesn't belong on your list of ducks? Ortiz's manager is on record to confirm the offer and Ortiz himself is on record with being angry at never being told of the offer.
We can like a fighter, or even a network - but that doesn't mean we need to be blind to the few truths we do know.
To re-iterate, I love watching Wilder fight, he's one of my favorites actually. And while in all honesty - I do not think Ortiz is worth anything close to the reported 10m he's being paid, i'll still be tuning in and have watched every piece of media I can find on the fight
However with regard to the ducking, no further proof is needed. Look here bro, when a top 5 Welterweight is available and asking for the fight and you choose to fight a lesser guy it’s a duck.
AJ is the only one who gets a “partial,” pass. Ortiz was supposed to be first inline for the Klitschko vs Joshua Winner.
However Eddie has a relationship with the IBF in the same way that Canelo has with the WBC. So he reshuffled the priorities of the two mandatories to keep the fight from happening.
What I will say is they did catch Ortiz dirty on a second attempt to schedule the fight killing that fight and opening the door for Takam.
But that even looks laughable given the fact that the White vs Rivas was a lesser fight and was pushed forward without even notifying the Rivas team of the doping result.
Then there is the most recent offer on the back of the Big Baby PED issue. Although Ortiz should have taken the fight. It was at very short notice, nobody on the UK side honors that. In addition, Ortiz versesJoshua was much bigger than AJ vs Big Baby. Why shouldn’t he get paid more. But in hindsight team Ortiz should have done what Team Ruiz did.
What is telling is team Ortiz came right back with a desire to move forward and Eddie Mr. Risk Adverse was way to happy to say no you had your chance.
If Ortiz was so old, how come lesser fighters who generate less money don’t get half hearted offers. Why is he still destroying guys in a way his people are not? Ortiz vs Joshua would have made his NY debut one of the most lucrative fights this year. Eddie had them where he wanted, why didn’t he just take the fight?...it’s a duck bro. Not that it matters with Ruizing beating the brakes off AJ.
Dillion white just flat out said no and had he said yes he would have been fighting Wilder. The value prop alone says it was a duck. Especially when you are running around claiming Ortiz is old. Take the easy fight then with the old guy and destroy him. He would have been right in line for Wilders title.
Sorry bro, these guys wanted no part of Ortiz and will not fight him until they know he has been washed of any champion level ability. They may step up if Wilder were to get Ortiz out there early. Watch how they back track and the even older fighter then becomes a target.Comment

Easy... First off he started number 4 or 5. He continues to knock fighters out with better than Fury opponents ranking. He could no be number two because...Important to remember that you're justifying him as being the number two heavyweight here... Based on...
1. Beating Bryant Jennings four years ago
2. His Olympic pedigree (note: it doesn't exist, he never fought at the Olympics).
3. Being 'competitive' in a loss to Wilder.
Is that a strong argument for him possibly being the second best heavyweight in the world?
1. He almost knocked number 1A (Wilder) out in there last fight. It was a barn burner.
2. Number 1B (Fury) just went tooth and nail with a guy outside the top 20 and is now getting out the game.
3. Number used to be 1(AJ) just got destroyed by Ruiz who wasn’t ranked as high as Ortiz.
4. Ortiz’s overall resume and loss to Wilder is more impressive than Ruiz’s loss to Parker and subsequent list of wins
5. Whyte barely got past Rivas and was caught doping. Where is the B-Sample.
So who? Usyk? Parker? You tell me who should be rated higher?
And yes you got a bone from another poster. Correction... Ortiz’s Amateur pedigree (Not olympic pedigree) makes him look like a HW Loma.
Lastly for real boxing fans and odds makers the eyeball test doesn’t lie.
Name another fighter besides a retiring to WWE Fury that would be favored against him. Now I am waiting brother... who is better than the old man?Comment

"Where is the B sample?". That's the point when I know you're a troll.
You had Ortiz at number two. Number two. Just read it back to yourself and try not to cringe at your own lack of credibility. Remember, number two!
Joshua has a clearly better resume. Same Ruiz. Same Whyte. Same Fury.
Ortiz might be 5, purely on the eye test.Comment

Lol... Alright let’s put a dagger in this. Below is a link."Where is the B sample?". That's the point when I know you're a troll.

Just after the Fury vs Wilder fight, their draw led to the following rankings citing Wilders demotion...
1. AJ
2. Fury
3. Wilder
4. Ortiz
5. Whyte
Since then... AJ lost to Ruiz #8 by BRUTAL knockout and QUIT. So why would he be in the top four? Why are you bringing up his Resume? Boxing rankings are on who would win today based on recent performance. Overall resume is a secondary factor. Because you could beat a guy 5 years ago doesn’t mean you keep your ranking until the catch up...Really I have to explain this?
Fury has ducked Wilder and went life and death with a guy ranked non better than number 22. He also stated he may quit and go to the WWE. So once again why would he maintain his ranking? Ortiz possibly being number two is only because Fury May stay in boxing and eeked out the win at the cost of an eye.
Whyte was not only behind Ortiz he hasn’t had a more pivotal win than Ortiz and the top 10 guy he fought in Rivas the fight could have went either way. Forget the B sample bro, the A sample said he was caught doping... So why would he move past Ortiz who has been KO’ing the competition? He should have a disqualification and be suspended. But you say we are trolling to maintain the sport.
The real pivotal movement in the rankings is for dumb a$$ fan culture.
You UK dream weavers have reached #2 status. You blindly repeat things with out logical explanation and don’t seem to know boxing from cricket.
Just see the link below... let’s keep on embarrassing your bum a$$. The rest of the Smiths abandoned you. I am going to take my time ripping you apart... troll arse Mr. Toffee.

I'm happy to accept your arguments on Fury, Whyte, and the one you don't discuss (Ruiz, the unified champion). You're pretty clearly wrong, but let's just roll with it.Lol... Alright let’s put a dagger in this. Below is a link.

You have Ortiz ahead of AJ because he lost a fight. Past wins apparently don't come into it according to you.
Yet your justification for elevating Ortiz' to number two is his amateur pedigree and a win vs Bryant Jennings 4 years ago! In that time AJ has beaten Klitschko, Whyte, Povetkin and Parker.
You simply can't have Ortiz ahead of AJ with any semblance of credibility. You can like him by all means but you can't rank him higher by any reasonable measure.
Your comments on beating the trolls are hilarious. You really believe you've got the logic behind you don't you?
Well I couldn't open your link - it's blocked. Hopefully you can open mine. It explains the phenomenon that we are all experiencing with you quite well.

You have no points. Old wins count for legacy. Current rankings are a what have you done for me lately. Having one or two big wins doesn’t afford you a life time at the top.
Guess George Foreman and Lennox Lewis can come back into the game ranked number one based on resume?
You really need to stop while ahead. You are demonstrating you no nothing about boxing.
You guys are clowns how are you going to take new interest in a sport and come in trying to tell everyone else how to run it?Comment
