Wilder doesn't throw enough jabs to defeat Ali but it would be exciting in some spots. Ali a bit overatted ,he wasn't that hard to hit as most make him . I'd bet Ali gets a UD over Wilder I cant see this being a Foreman type fight because wilder is not a volume aggressive puncher and give ali way to much time to plan out tactics.

This is why Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns were both each other's nightmare - they were both in there trying to do basically the same thing. Huge amount of metal pressure - trying to beat the other guy to the punch knowing he's going to counter you.You know, you make a great point here and I agree 100%.
I’ve always thought that that sentiment rings true for most pure boxers — they don’t like to face other pure boxers.
Mayweather fared quite well against KO artists and swarmers (although he had some close fights like Castillo I and Maidana I), but I noticed there weren’t many fights with guys with great jabs and masterful defense. I’m not saying he ducked anyone, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he knew that was riskier for him. Although different generations, I would have loved to see him fight Pernell Whitaker in a time machine — that would have been fight of the century for me.
I am one of the those people who thinks Mayweather's resume is astonishingly thin given the amount of esteem he's held in. To say he "ducked" anybody doesn't even really make sense - he moved between divisions and picked fights he could win, when he could win them. From career management point of view, he was better than anyone - he made a gazillion dollars and still has all his brain cells. But the trade-off for boxing fans was no Pacqiauo fight till they were both old, no fight with Trinidad, Wright, etc., etc. Sure, he never lost. But here's something Ali didn't do: go to jail for beating his wife.Comment

Agreed. The gf beating thing is what kept me from being one of his fans. Still enjoyed watching him fight tho. This is why Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns were both each other's nightmare - they were both in there trying to do basically the same thing. Dumbest thread I've seen in a while. Wilder has 2 DECENT guys on his record while Ali fought and beat the best guys in 2 decades. Including Foreman when most thought Foreman was more unbeatable than Tyson. I can name 20 guys that Ali beat, that could beat Wilder hahahahaComment

Fury made Wilder look ******; Ali would have done this while also hurting him, and eventually knocking him out.Comment
