Ortiz looks like the training camp was for real. The man passed on a bigger payday from Joshua's team as the first choice to replace Miller because this was the fight he wanted. I like Ortiz. I wish his PED past had not happened, but I like his boxing style. This is his Super Bowl, his Final Four, his last shot at the crown. He is all in.

I think most of us realize Wilder should win. But this is true: Wilder has been talking about Ruiz/Joshua. He has been rating his KO's up to now. He is all shades of obsessed by Tyson Fury and his WWE antics and other sideshow shenanigans. But Ortiz has been solely focused on Wilder. This could be a sneaky great fight so long as Ortiz leaves it all in the ring. I do not hate his chances at an upset.

Well said, well said. I’m watching the first fight again on YouTube. It was just as exciting as I remembered. These two were swinging for the fences. Ortiz ate some punches that would’ve finished most other heavyweights. He’s got a steel chin. But going into the tenth was just asking too much. Whatever his conditioning is for this fight, I think Luis has to get to Wilder earlier. If he doesn’t, he may not be a able to weather a big shot late. This rematch should be good. I don’t care what anyone says.

in years gone by this fight would be on premium cable. you're walking a veyr slippery slope when you let these guys take you for pay per view money for this kind of fight.


it's also pretty laughable when you talk to me about being unable to afford a pay per view, and then in the next breath talk about your "hustle" to make five or ten dollars off of the backs of your "friends"

this is not a good pay per view. the undercard is garbage, teh main is garbage. luis ortiz is very, very old.

luckily the rest of the boxing world sees this for what it is. big fights are not happening because of promotional ties, and this is the crap left over. styles make fights and it will be exciting, but so was a gatti fight. doesn't mean he belonged on pay per view.

You may be right, however I thought about some banned weight-cutting stuff and the likes. After all, Ortiz has history as far as using illegal stuff is concerned.

On the other hand, I think most fighters at the top levels use something, one way or another. Some are better than others in not getting caught, that being the lone difference.

If Ortiz was on "The Arnolds", he would have popped (again). Wilder's opponents can't sneak nothing in.

His physique looks like an improved diet, cardio and resistance training. Diet alone makes a HUGE difference.

I’ve been saying the same thing. Being in better shape doesn’t necessarily mean anything in and of itself. However, Ortiz isn’t Joshua. We know he can fight. But one thing you said concerns me. Luis has said he really isn’t changing his approach. It was a comment I wasn’t sure about.
