Holmes was definitely one of the best Heavyweight Champions ever, and his left jab, was textbook. I also believe he would kick the ass of any Heavyweight out there today, Champion or challenger. Larry's problem, with not getting his, "Just Dues" as he always said, was his glaring arrogance, and snobbishness....it turned a lot of people away, and off.

Die hard boxing fans know who he is, admired him for his boxing ability and achievements and place him accordingly in the halls of boxing greatness.

Suck it up, Larry, and stop feeling sorry for yourself.

Holmes is correct. He was always a straight shooter from the heart. No bull****!! He would mop the floor with most of these heavyweights and was the most underrated champ in memory.I hope he can find peace before his days are up.

They should announce him, then when he is in the ring show highlights of his tyson fight during his happy clappy parading the ring part.

Why did boxing stop doing that? Remember in years past they would always introduce former champs before a fight?

Should be announced as larry Holmes the 33rd knockout victim of iron mike. A man who wailed on a semi comatose ali. A stubborn ***wit beaten into unconsciousness by the heroic mike. Who took revenge for Ali.

Exactly....He really thinks Buster would have his way with the previously committed Tyson?? Coming through the ranks, Mike had a transparant naive unpretentious angry life played out for all to see..,his life with Cus, his marriage, his club life..lol..and his Baby Hulk style of fight was all VERY exciting & entertaining. We all saw him pretty much grow up....and we all to some degree can relate to his life... Mike now tries to be that "nice guy" you know who lives down the block.

Holmes was always arrogant, mean, condescending and still seems to be the same way. Why "cry" after you've systematically BEAT UP on an old man version of Ali?? He knew what he was doing round after round after round....I can go on and on about this dude, but I'm gonna stop.... Holmes was a determined above average fighter, but his bitter arrogant 'disposition' has nothing to offer the past or future generations. Imagine hanging out with him (even on his B'day), only to hear him ***** about the past and how great he was? I'll pass....

Even Holmes, in all his greatness, is still bitter for having been knocked out cold by Tyson. And yet, he went on to beat Ray Mercer, and gave Holyfield a good fight years later.
Don't know if you're a troll of just a dumb *** who has no clue what state Holmes was in back then.
