    i very much doubt sultan has enough money to hire a better trainer, better sparring partners, etc; and he probably gives much of his purse to the manager in any case;
    i dont think he needs a "better" trainer, but he needs someone who can be in his corner during the fight. im sure there are a lot of solid guys out there that would love to train sultan.

    being managed by klitschko's company would be good, the more i think about it the whole situation with the weight and the people supporting him, i think one had a lot to do with the other.

      Well, I don't know what the hell you'd call the guys Tyson made short work of as a professional. I guess Custodians.

          I try not to call fighters bums. I like to grade them on an A,B,C,D,F scale.

            It's easy to sit back and pass judgement on someone for not doing something that you, yourself, have no need to do. For instance if some mows the lawn poorly you sit back and say, "Well that ******* can't cut grass for ****." Why? Because you think, even if you've never actually cut grass a day in your life, that it's easy. You take the lawn mower and you cut the grass. Simple. Then later you find out that the neighbour's lawn is riddled with hills, and the man was using a hand powered mower, so that you can't do better. You'd actually do worse.

            When you sit on your ass, with a beer in one hand and a bag of Cheetos in the other, you can yell things at the television. "Come on you bum, catch that pass!" or "Strike him out you, bum!" Could you catch the pass or strike him out? Hell no. But they're proffesionals so they should be able to, right?

            In boxing it's even worse. You see a man moving slowly and his opponent should be able to hit him. If he keeps his hands down there is a hole to be exploited. If the boxer, the man whose body is covered in sweat, staring at another man across from him, while you watch television in an air conditoned house, does not do what you think he can- or should be able to- he's a bum. People will always pass judgement on athletes just as they do everyone else, assuming you could do better in their shoes. Either that, or just not realizing how hard it can be to perform.

            If every boxer is not an Ali, and every baseball player not a Ruth, or Mantle, every basketball player not a Jordan someone, somewhere, will manage to call them a bum. I bet even if those greats ever messed up some fat, hairy guy in the back row managed to call them a bum, too.

              exactly, and there is nothing a single thread on a single boxing forum is ever going to do about it

                thanks for that deep philosophical life lesson, but this is sports. fans pay good money to buy the overpriced tickets/PPV/satellite so they can say whatever the hell they want to. and if its so hard to perform as a boxer then get outta the profession, go be a bum somewhere else. they get paid millions of dollars, theres no reason they should be fighting out of shape and looking like a guy the promoter just found rooting in the dumpster and strapped gloves to him. no kidding the average bum boxer could beat us up, that doesnt mean hes not a bum . that means im not a boxer

                  Maybe you pay your money to watch pay-per-views so you can say whatever you want, I pay my money to enjoy the sport I love live, as it happens. Yeah, if a boxer peforms poorly you call him a bum. That was my entire point. I wish someone followed you around to your job and if you spaced out at work a guy was behind you screaming, "You ****ing bum! You bum! This is your job you bum!"

                  I understand what you are saying, but my point is it's way easier to criticize when you aren't doing **** to compare yourself to. I'm just not the type of person who pays my money, watches a fight, and then says '____ is a ****ing bum'. I respect those who can do what I can't. Just a difference of opinion.
