Comments Thread For: An Interlude, Then Go Heavy

By Cliff Rold - Fans of a certain age in the US are seeing something the newer generation is really getting to experience for the first time. The emergence of Deontay Wilder as more than just a beltholder, as a genuine star, has cast a spotlight on the division that in the US market had been somewhat missing. There is boxing, and then there are...

It's official, the PBC has taken over this website too hahah. Man, ain't nobody watching this crappy rematch, unless it's on a stream somewhere. And a bunch of people watched the preview of the fight because it came on right after college football. Wilder refuses to fight for unification and he refuses to fight 90% of the top 30 in the world. This makes him a fraud and a chump. Ali fought the best boxers in 2 decades, many of them twice. Hagler, Hearns, Leonard, they all fought each other numerous times too. None of them would duck 120 million and unification like Wilder just to go fight on a PPV where he is not even to main event, in front of a half empty arena.

It's actually a good fight. It's just not the fight anyone wants to see right now so no one, including myself, cares.

This PPV is going to be tremendous, the fans have expressed great interest in this anticipated rematch via the FOX-PBC Wilder-Ortiz II 'Fight-Camp' series, that has produced high ratings. What a undercard : two world-titles on the line, top five and top tens from Bantam-weight, to Jr. feather all the way up to HW!

Next week, the 'Bronze-Bomber' erases all question marks from the first fight vs. Luis Ortiz and surpasses hater Mike Tyson for consecutive title defenses, having successfully defended the WBC HW title ten times. Tommy Burns, Wladimir Klitschko, Larry Holmes, Deontay Wilder is joining the elite ranks.

True boxing fans realize that Wilder-Ortiz II is a great fight. Casual fans are intrigued because Wilder is a knockout specialist. His fights are always exciting and the arenas are always full. If you haven't seen him fight in real time, you're missing out on something special...

This write Cliff Rold? is nothing more than an industry shill put there to shine the puke off boxing.

Boxing is not in a healthy state, pal. Bum fights should be boycotted, not slavered over.

Joshua got beat by a bum, which means he is a bum. No one should pay ten cents for that rematch.

The only heavyweight fight that seemed worth paying for got derailed when Joshua was knocked out. It is obvious now that Wilder would have beaten the oaf, but I would have paid for that fight at the time.

Currently there are a couple of fights in boxing worth paying for, but don't worry, that is the reason they will never be made--someone could lose a big reputation and lots of future money. His handlers are not going to let it happen. They are counting on his earning power to put their kids through college.

Heading the list currently is Crawford/Spence. That non fight deserves a boycott of anything else Spence's handlers try to sell you.

It is YOU that must boycott the weak substitute matches they offer instead of the ones you want to see, while they make all the money they can off you before they let their guy fight anyone dangerous, stringing you along to the snapping point.

PBC deserves a boycott from everyone. All of their fights do, because it was Spence's corner that was more responsible for preventing the fight from happening.

The industry deserves your boycott not your money.

I haven't heard much buzz about it to be fair, but the PBC youtube stuff has been great and I can't wait to see how it pans out! Ortiz looks like hes in the best shape for a few years as well

Whenever it gets close to a Wilder fight, I hear the punch they heard all they way in Brazil in my head.

If you're old enough to have seen Lenard vs Hearns... you know the difference. Some fans only know bum fights and hype.
