doesn't sound like a lot of you really get what a resume is, how it differs from a pound for pound list, etc

in a pound for pound list you have to distinguish between the right now and the career as a body of work. resumes stack accomplishmnts. who did you beat, when, and how? you evaluate that and you get a good idea of the quality of a resume. losing doesn't take a win away, either. puts you down on a pound for pound list, in ranking, etc. but it doesn't take away a win! manny got laid out like a newborn against marquez. does that take away from the fact that he was the best FW coming out of his hall of fame era? does it take away the wins he had at welterweight before he slowed down? nope! losses count, but they don't take away your wins! they are the wins you didn't get and the L's on your record!

most of the greats, like pacquiao, fought way past their primes for the money. at least manny isn't broke, robinson, louis, etc were. and when they lost to randy turpin, rocky marciano, guys who wouldn't hold their jocks in their primes, you didn't take away the decade long reign at HW, or the best welterweight we've ever seen.

No offense man, but I'm not really sure if you understand what resume actually means. Resume is defined as - a brief account of a person’s education, qualifications, and previous experience

In Porter's case for example...one could rate him somewhat high and say he has a good resume...according to how they saw him perform in those fights vs top competition..if he impressed somewhat, that would help his 'resume'...a resume is an account of your qualifications and experience.

That could mean clear wins against good fighters...or it could mean good performances vs better fighters...it certainly could take all of that into account.
