Jacobs and Chavez were together smoking a blunt at the time.
Daniel Jacobs also missed a VADA drug test for this fight

I'm sure this happens all of the time, but we only hear about it when it happens to hated boxers.Comment

According to Hearn.
Promoter @EddieHearn opens up on Chavez Jr. skipping out on a VADA drug test revealing that Jr's reason was that he hadnt yet officially signed up for the Jacobs fight. He also says they showed up to test Jacobs in Atlanta but he was in NYC. More here: https://t.co/VBaF5jvv5a

It's odd for sure... I mean, I'd never heard of it before, though that doesn't mean much... but usually when fighters sign for testing they also need to give whereabouts notification, yet it sounds like for the NSAC spontaneous tests they didn't, so there's no penalty for Danny not being available becasuse he was never told he needed to be... but then if Danny's not penalised for not being tested why would Jr be when he also wasn't notified.
Strange situation all round.
Was anyone else here aware of these unnotified SAC tests? Are they a new thing? Are they common?
It'd be kinda weird if they did 'em all the time cos them VADA guys don't come cheap and since there's no whereabouts notification it's just kinda hit or miss whether the dude's gonna be in when you come calling. Is NSAC paying for that ish every time there's a fight? But if they don't do 'em to everyone, how do they pick? And how come we'd never heard of it before... surely randomly cold calling on guys is gonna result in lots of misses but also some refusals and failures, why ain't we heard of any of them?
This whole sitaution is just... odd.Last edited by Citizen Koba; 11-13-2019, 01:39 PM.Comment
