Chavez Jr should have been suspended for not taking a test. No doubt he had juice in his system at that time.

Any roiders can either refuse to give samples, or just be in a different location and there are no repercussions.

Ok it's a few years old but it's looking like Nevadas enhanced testing is a thing and it's been around for a few years but it's mainly used for ufc. They're selective about it, so they test certain dudes not others decided per committee. I'd imagine that since most major fight contracts now have testing stipulations they'd mainly opt to do it only where they felt there was a significant risk of violations occuring outside the contracted testing window.

Honestly can't say I think they're crazy for thinking Jr could be a violation risk. Probably wanted to test Danny too cos you're gonna get accused of favouritism if you only tested one fighter in the bout.

The program is a major improvement from the traditional fight-night tests the NSAC relies on, as it calls for random blood tests during an athlete's camp. Different fight-night urine tests screen for steroids, diuretics and drugs of abuse and cost as little as $145, but are routinely criticized as being easy to cheat.

Given the cost - and it will only have gone up since this article was written - and the fairly high possibility of failure (ie a fighter not being where you thought they'd be since you ain't got a whereabouts agreement) it's not surprising they use it fairly sparingly outside of the UFC where the promotion covers the costs.

1.  At any time requested by the Commission or its representative, an unarmed combatant, whether in-competition or out-of-competition, shall submit to a drug test.

2.  A test of any sample or specimen of an unarmed combatant may be performed by a laboratory approved by the Commission or a laboratory approved and accredited by the World Anti-Doping Agency.

3.  To be approved by the Commission to test a sample or specimen of an unarmed combatant, a laboratory must implement the International Standard for Laboratories and the Decision Limits for the Confirmatory Quantification of Threshold Substances, which are adopted by reference pursuant to paragraphs (b) and (c) of subsection 1 of NAC 467.011.

He got popped for what & under what circumstances? What Hearn's saying is that VADA sent someone to test Danny in Atlanta where they thought he was, but he was actually in New York at the time . Since he wasn't under any contracted testing regime he hadn't been required to sign any whereabouts agreement and so can't be held culpable for not being where they thought he was. At least, that's my understanding of the situation based on the information we have.
