Would a young ggg fight anyone in their prime? Fck no! He went pro at age 24 ggg has around less than half the rds boxed as nelo,would ggg fight the resume nelo has since he was still a teen? You seem to be overlooking that fact that Canelo had only had 20 amateur fights before turning pro at 15 while GGG had an extensive amateur career winning 345 fights from 350 and picking up various honours including World championship Gold and Olympic silver. Thats why he turned pro at 24...

Your point is moot because when they met Golovkin clearly won the first fight by at least 3 rounds but was robbed so the rematch could take place and the second fight should've been a GGG win or draw but Canelo got the decision.

Canelo does not fight at a true weight... the guy walks around at between 185-190 so either boils down or stays at weight. Why didn't he fight Kovalev in 2017 when he was weighing in at 164 against Chavez Jr or last year when he weighed 168 against Fielding - he could've easily made 175... but we know the answer to that, he waited for Krusher to get old and the danger to subside before entertaining that fight.

GGG talks is probably never going away at this point. DAZN has primary interest in it because they believe that it will help recoup their losses with Canelo's 365 million contract.

The only way to finally put a stop to this is for Canelo to finally dominate GGG, otherwise, 4 or 5 more fights is possible and it's not gonna stop. This fight sells well because it's a match up that is guaranteed action packed. Canelo has found the perfect dancing partner in GGG and DAZN is hoping to milk that.

Clenero ducking Ggg cause fighting him takes alot of Mileage off him and shortens Cleneros career. He already has shot knees. Also Ggg will never take a dive like Kovalev did.

Excellent post - couldn't have put it better myself. Kovalev's performance against Canelo was utterly pathetic and it wasn't because of Canelo's excellence, it was because he was in survival mode. He was just half heartedly pawing out the jab instead of thudding it out and following it up with his signature right hand. As the bigger man Kovalev should be utterly ashamed of the way he boxed. Excluding the knockout where Kovalev was clearly spent it was just the usual ineffective aggression from Canelo - just plodding forward in the centre line not doing much. Even the crowd starting booing him on two occasions lol. Pretty similar to the Jacobs fight - that was a dull affair by all accounts.

Boxing scoring is subjective hence the need for 3 judges but it becomes clear something was up/someone was bribed when out of 6 judges only 1 scored the fight for Golovkin. This was not the fights that we saw. Can you honestly support Adelaide Byrds ludicrous 118-110 score? At the end of the day nothing but a KO will get the win over Canelo in Vegas, even then they's probably try to spin it in their favor.

In the first fight Canelo was literally running from Golovkin backwards against all four corners of the ring and eating shots at the same time so you're talking ring generalship and effective aggression there. In the second fight, yes Golovkin took shots (hes prepared to take shots to give shots) but whilst Canelo stayed in the pocket he was forced to eat copious amounts of jabs all night and eventually G started hooking and uppercutting of them. The final compubox punch report does not lie and tells the story of the fight - Golovkin landed more shots overall and significantly more jabs and it were probably these which left Canelo requiring plastic surgery for his eye afterwards.

golovkin gggroupies will say that canelo is ducking and waiting for golovkin to get older..if canelo fought him tomorrow and beat him theyd be crying about how old golovkin is...but if he doesn't fight him they'll whine about how canelo is ducking...its sad

Agreed. I didn't care for 1 and 2, either. I'll actively avoid a 3rd fight. This whole story is forced, lame, and stale. One less Canelo fan here if he ever gives into this thing.

Its been said before but it really is a central issue - Canelo is 29 and Golovkin is 37. People go on as if Golovkin is some invincible monster who can defy the hands of time.

Lets have it right, the prime 30 year old version of Golovkin who made his American debut in 2012 would've MURDERED Canelo either knocking him out or forcing Reynoso to throw in the towel. That is an absolute concrete fact and anyone who disputes that is biased to the point where they want to perform felatio on Canelo.

Agreed. That’s why I mentioned in my post that Canelo is at the top of his game right now and Golovkin is past it. The Golovkin who first started getting exposure in the American market was a special fighter. Yes. It is true that he looked less special as he stepped up the competition, but he still looked good. It’s only until very recently that he started to look his age. But for his seek and destroy style, he has done very well for himself. And the first two fights between the two were very competitive, despite the age difference!

Canelo should never drop to 160. if he does it'll ruin him like roy jones. he should just go back n forth between 168 and 175. it triple flop earns a third chance canelo should tell him to move up or kick rocks. and winning his next fight does not qualify as earning it. triple flop MUST beat derevy, jacobs, andrade or charlo to get canelo again. if not then stick a fork in this idea. canelo will not bend to DAZN pressure without him they are nobody.

I already said he should "unify" with Billybob at smw & it looks like thats the next scalp & belt being added to Nelos mantle as hes negotiating w him supposedly(& for the longest time many of nelos detractors have called for that fight & Crackjob Saunders has a belt. )

Bottom line is that whichever champ he fights at any weight class nobody can hate on him for it any longer(but we know they will) & if he does keep the streak of champions going then he can honestly say hes the greatest of all time(if he was to beat a couple of the remaining champs at his weight classes he would have literally the greatest resume of all time at that point) insane of a statement as it sounds if Nelo beats lets say any 3 or 4 of these:Andrade/Charlo/BJS/Zurdo/Benevidez/Smith/Bivol or Beterbieve especially on his own would make nelo be able to say he has a case for the #1atg resume(yes that includes if he uses ibf rules to keep them from going straight from weigh in til hw as long as he doesn't drag them down.)

If he's negotiating with Andrade, that's great. We know what's going to happen with Golovkin, and it's only going to get better for Alvarez over time. Golovkin will be 38 next year, and is in obvious decline. The fight would earn Alvarez a check, but not much more.

As far as that #1 all time resume stuff, consider that Mayweather has something like 21 world champions defeated, and mostly no one thinks he's the best ever. In what universe is Alvarez better than that, let alone all of the other legends throughout history? Alvarez has a better resume than Roberto Duran? Ray Robinson? Manny Pacquiao? I don't think so, but to each their own.
