Soon enough DAZN will figure out that Canelo isn't the star they thought he would be. I'm sorry but not speaking English hurts him and he doesn't fight the best fighters in their prime. Frankly, GGG is probably the only name that would give him big gate numbers but I'm not sure if many people are willing to pay Canelo retire GGG.

Who right now is fighting the best fighters in their prime? Has Canelo ever? you think UFC fans care that Nate Diaz isn't prime? And lastly, do you think DAZN has no idea that the USA has a healthy Hispanic consumer market? I'm sure when DAZN signed Canelo they knew this before hand...

Anyone who thinks a big fight in Wembley is better than a big fight in Vegas needs to do better research.

You can sell a fifth of the tickets and do twice the gate if it's Vegas.

I also think blaming DAZN is inappropriate.

It's the promoters job to make sure tickets get sold and the fight gets properly advertised.

Canelo is the # 1 Boxing PPV star today.

Boxing in general is down in terms of PPV largely from the fallout of Floyd Mayweather

So far DAZN has done a poor job of promoting Canelo. They need to get more air time on different platforms.

Floyd did Conan, other talkshows, Dancing with Stars, WWE, etc. Canelo does none of those things. Need to be a multi-platform boxer today and DAZN just doesnt understand that...yet

I believe both GGG fights were fixed, and a lot of fans consciously realized it, and stopped watching Canelo, while even more fans realized it subconsciusly. The commentators kept trying to fool us telling us GGG vs Canelo 1 was a classic, potential fight of the year, all this stuff, when in my opinion it was a lot of touch jabs and pulled punches. The second one a lot more power shots landed but no follow up when someone got hurt, and you didnt see punches thrown at full power from GGG.

I believe both were fixed, even though the second one was much more convincing. I think the media narratives, possibly even the VADA test, were done to try to hype up the fight because the PPV numbers for the first one were probably exaggerated too. Neither of these guys is Floyd. I don't think Canelo is as big a star as they say he is, so they still wanted to build up his name more with the narratives.

And the Kovalev fight in my opinion was easily the most obvious in terms of being fixed. He threw either pitty pat punches or punches aimed short at the gloves all night to my view, and then he stayed in the pocket an extra split second for Canelo to counter him repeatedly. It was the same few exchanges over and over, repeated, like a script. Everything very clean, like something rehearsed, rather than a real fight which is messy at times. The clinches from Kovalev to supposedly relieve pressure looked rehearsed, like something they added in to make it look authentic, and to make it look like Kovalev couldn't get away from Canelo's pressure, then those same clinches played into the KO punch later, a KO punch that happened right after the over/under of 10.5 rounds.

I rewatched Wilder vs Ortiz, and it looked like Ortiz was pulling punches as well once Wilder got hurt. The 12th round of the Fury fight looked fake too. He broke his fall on the way down then pretended to be unconscious.

All of this is my opinion. It's a fake sport now. Even if it's just subconsciously, fans are starting to realize it and they're tuning out.

Makes you wonder if all American sports are fixed at some level. We know european soccer is. Thought America was different but in my opinion it doesn't look that way anymore.

                      - -Obviously TUE 50-0 was the bellwether of the decline after he ****** all the life outta boxing with his farcical career at MGM.

It was McG bringing UFC fans in that made that fight. Poor guy needs Kenny Bayliss to run interference for him against Banty debut Tenshin.

Oh dear, such shamelessness will be his epitaph in the sport!
