Despite all the mistakes and bad choices made by Earl, this is sad news if true. Earl has all the tools to become one of the Greats of his era. Tis sad news for Boxing if he really has to retire early from his injuries. Let's hope it ain't true.
Spence may never fight again according to family and Boxing Socialist

This will have dire consequences on Haymon's empire. Spence was groomed to be a star moneymaker. Now Wilder and Davis will need to be protected with more fake fraud phony sparring session "fights." Also, Haymon may be forced to sacrifice Floyd to Pacquiao. For the $$$.Comment

I see there are no Christians in this thread; few are ready to forgive a transgression...the FIRST transgression of this young man.
He did it to himself, so punishment is in order, but so is forgiveness. If he admits his mistake, owns up to it, and lives a clean life afterwards, then who are we to condemn the man? If he doesn't then sure, screw him.
YES, I drove drunk more than once. Almost killed myself one time. But I grew the fk up, and never did it again. Never hurt anyone else, either. I'm willing to bet a big percentage of you mongs have driven drunk or high at least once in your life.Comment

Really hope this isn't true. It was a really, really dumb choice on his part all the way around but luckily he didn't hurt anyone else and can learn from it. There are a lot of interesting fights that Spence can take part in during his career. We don't need another situation like with Paul Williams where we just have to wonder how he would have fit into it all.Comment

meh, this isn't true. a close friend of mine flipped a 3000gt in high school. going 100 mph, thrown from the car, the whole 9 yards. he had sc****s and bruises. his passenger had a seatbelt on. sc****s and bruises. some people are just lucky. the side of teh car that was crushed had the due with no seatbelt, the side that remained intact had a dude with a seatbelt.
if the car caves in and you're still insdie, you're ****ed. spence was thrown from the vehicle and he was very drunk. he was probably like gumby after he hit the ground for the first time. it probably saved his life.Comment

these are rose tinted glasses on another f#cking level.
holy ****, dude, you really think it's more like that he's got PTSD than having serious damage after getting ejected from a ferrari [probably through the windshield?] are you high? want to pass that **** over here?
we'd have at least seen a picture of him if his injuries weren't severe. this is the best welterweight on the planet, a pay per view fighter, a guy maneuvering for a fight with manny pacquiao and who is on the cusp of legit superstardom in the wake of floyd mayweather's retirement.
i hope you're right for spence's sake, but you're just not. he went through a windshield and they had to put his face back together. they tried to "soften the blow" in the public eye. leaking that he had no broken bones, no concussion, etc. soften the blow by showing me a picture of you standing upright or at least showing your face!
give me another reason why you wouldn't have a single picture after your accident. there's no better way to shut people up.
at the very least spence sustained injuries that are going to keep him out of the ring for a while. it's starting to look like they are threatening his career.Comment
