Their opinion is no better or worse than Ring, ESPN, Boxrec or boxing scene. No two lists from any fan or group will ever be exacyly the same. If you think Canelo is number 1 then put him there. It's your list. He is not number 1 to me and nobody tells me who to put on my pfp list because it's my list.
The fact that you've never heard of them just shows how little yo know. Some opinions are better than others. I'm going to take an opinion of a boxing expert that follows the sport and actually knows what he's talking about over someone like you. To say one opinion is no better than another is one of the most ****** things i see people say, mostly ****** people say it.

Possibly, but I will stay with the ESPN ranking that has him at #3, where he belongs. A paid off win over a faded Kovalev has not changed my mind.

        .

It mitigates nothing. When they legalize marijuana it doesn’t mean that all the people previously arrested weren’t doing Something illegal. It means they now have decided use of marijuana is ok.

Same with PEDs. If canelo tests positive for the same level today then he is ok. Still doesn’t erase the fact he tested positive against the rules less than 2 years ago.

It’s not impossible to come to the conclusion he clearly cheated. He tested positive after a controversial draw during training for the rematch.

If you wish to give him the benefit of the doubt, ok. Me not giving him that doesn’t make me a hater.

we are talking about a multi million dollar athlete whose meals are prepared for him by a highly paid chef. I doubt the chef is using low quality steroid injected beef grade b beef.

Damn good post. He's a PED cheater. No two ways about it.

He never failed a test before or since. And immediately got on 24/7/365 VADA afterwards.

I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt more so than some of these other blatant cheats.
Amount was enough to get a suspension.

He hasn’t been preparing for a rematch after coming off a draw try at most people thought he lost either.

Let’s be real- Canelo couldn’t afford to lose to ggg. The incentive to cheat was extremely high. The fact he never tested positive before or after only increases the likelihood he cheated imo.

if you give him the benefit of the doubt, what does it say that you rank him above Inoue, Crawford, Usyk and Loma all who haven’t tested positive?

They all had must win fights as well and didn’t test positive.

Resume wise canelo deserves to be #1 p4p. I just think that positive test should be noted.

That the threshold has been recently changed doesn’t in any way mitigate any positive prior to the change.

In fact, the change should raise more su****ion in the the wbc, a sanctioning body headed by a Mexican, made these changes in light of all the recent positives by Mexican fighters. But that is another discussion.

There is no hate in my post. Canelo tested positive and imo the TBRB should note that next to his ranking.

              If you disagree, fine.
WBC didn't create this rule. WADA did and they didn't update their policy because of Canelo or even boxing. They are the number 1 testing agency in the world and have been dealing with Clenbuterol showing up in athletes in other sports for years and this has been a huge problem for athletes in other sports who come in contact with mexican meat. Before this they would flag as failed but with a asterisk informing about possibility of meat contamination and leaving it up to other sports to figure out what it means and how to address it. But now with more evidence and more cases that keep coming up they have acknowledged that they need to stop calling these failed tests and adopted a threshold consistent with meat contamination. It's unreasonable to tell athletes well just don't ever eat meat in your home country where you live because our tests can't figure this out.

WBC is simply agreeing with WADA new rules they rolled out earlier this year and under WADA's new policy Canelo would of never even failed a test and it would of never reached Nevada Commission who took a unprecedented stance in boxing suspending Canelo after he provided evidence and receipts of meat he ate and even took and passed a hair drug test which is more accurate determining whether you took Clenbuterol for PED use or accidentally ate meat. Nevada decided we don't care if it was meat or not it was in your system so even if it were meat you are still suspended opposite of what California Commission decided about year earlier with Francisco Vargas was not suspended and allowed to fight Salido after first failing for small traces of Clenbuteral. Nevada also chose opposite of how the NFL handled it when their players were visiting Mexico during the offseason and testing positive for Clenbuterol but NFL also chose not to suspend their players after they proved they were in Mexico and ate meat. Nevada jumped the gun after negative pressure when GGG went on his rant calling Canelo a cheater before that all reports were Nevada was not going to issue a suspension handling like California handled Vargas how the NFL handled their players and how soccer handled the entire Mexican national team that tested positive for clenbuterol.

                -U still in 3rd grade'?

Canelo ghost nanograms wouldn't put muscles on a gnat tested below the fail limit and consistent with well known local food contamination per WADA, the folks doing the testing and setting the limits.

Where U VADA clean test? Your politicians U vote for?

What? U can't pass a VADA test nor they?

                I already knew that!

                  I think that is a fair/quality post

the only thing I would add is... the chef factor doesn't really impact whether the positive test result was accidental or intentional, that is a non-issue

when Canelo was asked to explain his actions, he provided a number of occasions where he may have ingested tainted meat... including a family barbecue, a popular local takeout, and a dinner with ex US President Bill Clinton

NOT insisting that Canelo is innocent... I have no idea, not sure it matters now

it could have been intentional, not sure... and I am hesitant to give anyone the benefit of the doubt, like others are quick to do for their guys... but Canelo volunteering hair follicle samples, and putting on a BETTER performance in the rematch when we KNOW he was clean... is a lot better than fans insisting it was accidental because WADA changed the rules 2 years later

good post, as usual, Big D

ESPN is in business with Top Rank. They have a vested interest in NOT giving a high ranking to a guy who is on a rival platform.

Lol ESPN rankings is made up of a voters panel and clearly do not vote based on their platform fighters. I offer that Canelo actually has more #1 votes than Loma as proof.
