this donaire was much better than the donaire who just relied on his athleticism vs. rigondeux

and inoue is still not in his prime, which is scary to think

toughest fight for Inoue so far, Donaire show his heart and experience. there are a lot of learning experience for inoue from this fight.

nonito needed to work inoue san to the body. Nonito was head hunting a bit too much.. Inoue has a good chin, they both can take some serious shots. great fight.

Ref was as surprised as all of us to see Donaire run away like that. I thought it was a hand injury or a low blow at first

Surprised Donaire could compete like this. If he was in his prime he would have won.

Missed this yesterday for reasons beyond my control and finally caught it late tonight avoiding spoilers...wow! An absolute FOTY candidate, and round 11 at very least in the running for ROTY. I think a younger Donaire with his size and power advantage could have probably dealt with Inoue handily, but Monster's onslaught beginning when he really found his footing in 5 just proved too much for this version. I honestly think this may have been an even better clash than Prograis-Taylor all things considered. I had it like Luigi Boscarelli, 116-111 Naoya.

Naoya Inoue has now revealed that he suffered an orbital fracture to his right eye during round two of his win over Nonito Donaire. Regardless, he battled on with double vision for the full 12 and claimed the Ali Trophy. He's insisted the injury will not affect plans for 2020.

Great fight. Nonito with that huge frame, but Inoue is an absolute beast; fought very well. I love how Inoue turned it up in the last half and even more so after being buzzed in the 9th. This fight definitely exceeded expectations.
