No! Kovalev is just old and father time has finally caught to him that's all. Canelo knew this in advance which was why he took the fight in the first place.

In addition, Sergei had been exposed as a soft fighter. Since when has the "Krusher" has ever been a back foot fighter; The answer is never?

Moreover, he should seriously ponder retirement. It's should be in the best interest of all those who claim to have his best interest at heart to do so.

One can stick a fork in his career. He is finished.

I hate to admit it, but right when the ko happened I yelled out in excitement. And then I got a weird taste in my gut like something wasn't right. I immediately said that the fight was suspect.

I never accuse fights of being fixes, but this fight felt shady. I want to celebrate Canelo as the p4p king. What I saw didn't add up though.

There was no speed or snap or bodyweight behind any of his punches. Kovalev never threw a punch with bad intentions the whole fight or if he did I missed it. This from a guy known as the crusher. I didn't see him throw any punches that could crush a g****. Yhe KO was real. Canelo really blasted him with a very fast hard combination and knocked him out. It was Kovalev's soft punching that made me think the fight might have been fixed. I was worried about the fight being fixed before the fight. It all seemed so neatly planned out for cash cow Canelo to win by KO and get fighter of the year ans secade and be bigger than ever. Lots of powerful rich people in boxing absolutely did not want Kovalev to win because it would cost them millions in the future. These are people with tons of money to pay Kovalev enough to make sure he did not win. I cannot remember such an important fight in many years that so many people thought was fixed. Idon't think Kovalev tried to win the fight. It looked like Kovale made a deal not to try to win or even hurt Canelo at all. I can't prove it but I can answer your question and I don't think Kovalev fought to win.
That's a fair assessment and the way I look at it too. If there was a pre-fight plan for fighter A to not make his 100% effort to be healthy and win the fight, then that is the very definition of a scripted contest. Or, as the old timers called it, 'A FIX'

I think Kov was paid to lose a decision but the greedy bas tard canelo saw a chance to KO him so he did. that is the only part of the plan that was altered

I think this could have very well been a fixed fight. Imagine what you would be willing to do for that much money. Kovalev never sat down of any of his punches, he fought like its a soft sparring. Canelo couldnt hurt a tiny Cotto not too long ago and now knocks out Kovalev.
